•Your culture in front of Allah and his messenger
•Your self made deen (bidaat) in front of Allah and
his messenger
3. “O believers! Raise not your voices above the voice of the
Communicator of unseen (the Prophet) and speak not aloud in
presence of him as you shout to one another, lest your works
become vain while you are unaware.”

of the messenger of Allah: they are those, whose hearts Allah has

6. “O believers! If any disobedient comes to you with any
news make a strict inquiry lest you may hurt any people
improperly then remain repenting on what you have
done.”

among you. If he were to do according to
your liking in much of the affairs, you
would then surely be in trouble, but Allah

Make decisions with justice, not on

“And if two groups of the Muslims fight each other, then make peace
between them, but if one of them commits excessiveness against the
other, then fight the one that has committed excessiveness till it
reverts to the command of Allah. Then if it reverts rectify between
them with justice and do justice. Verily Allah loves the equitable.”

10. “Muslims are brothers, therefore make peace between the two
brothers and fear Allah that the mercy may be shown to you.”

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
اي اَل او اًنا اوْخِإ ِ هاَّلل اداابِع واُنوُك او واُراباادات اَل او ُواداسااحات اَل او واُضاغاابات اَلارُجْهاي ْناأ ٍمِلْسُمِل ُّل ِحٍث اَلاث قا ْواف ُهااخاأ
“Do not hate each other, do not envy each other, do not turn away from each
other, but rather be servants of Allah as brothers. It is not lawful for a Muslim to
boycott his brother for more than three days.” (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5718)
اار ىاكاتْشا ْنِإ او ُهُّلُك ىاكاتْشا ُهُنْياع ىاكاتْشا ْنِإ ٍد ِاح او ٍلُجاراك وناُمِلْسُمْلُهُّلُك ىاكاتْشا ُهُسْأ
“The Muslims are like a single man. If the eye is afflicted, then the whole body i
afflicted. If the head is afflicted, then the whole body is afflicted.”(Saḥīḥ Muslim
11. O believers! Let not the men scoff at the men, per chance they may
be better than those who scoff, and nor the women at other women,
perchance that they may be better than those women who scoff, and
do not taunt one another and nor call one another by nick-names.
What a bad name is, to be called a disobedient after being a Muslim,
and those who repent not, they are the unjust.
La Yaskhar– Don’t ridicule people…
Wa La Talamizu–Do not insult one another…
Wa La Tanabazu– Do not call with offensive nicknames…
Verse no. 11
12. • According to Qurtubi , mocking include:
– Mocking with the tongue
– Mimicking someone,
– Laughing at his words, his works, his appearance, his dress
• Ibn Mas'iid & said: "I would not like to scoff at a dog, lest I be transformed into a
dog.”
• Qur‘an has, on this occasion, addressed men and women separately
• lamz which connotes to find fault with someone or to upbraid him.
• “not find fault with yourselves‘= when you find fault with others and others will
find fault with you
• Ibn-'Abbas: tanabuz bil-alqab means that if a person committed a sin or
performed an evil deed from which he repented and mended his ways, it is
unlawful for anyone to call him by denigrating names, such as thief, an adulterer, a
drunkard or any such name.
• The Prophet said: "Anyone who denigrates a Muslim who has committed a sin of
which he has repented, Allah takes it upon Himself that He will get the person to
commit the very same sin and expose him to embarrassment and humiliation in
this world and in the Hereafter”[
• It is Sunnah to call people by Good Titles . E.g Abii Bakr : Siddiq (the truth teller),
'Umar : Farooq [he who distinguishes truth from falsehood], Hamzah : AsadullEh
[the lion of Allah]
13. O believers! Avoid most suspicions, verily some suspicion is a sin and
do not look out for faults and do not backbite one another. Would
any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would
abominate it. And fear Allah, Verily Allah is Oft Returning, Merciful.
Ijtanibu Kaseeran minaz-Zan – Avoid negative assumptions…
Wa La Tajassasu –Do not spy…
Wa La Yagtab– Do not backbite…
Verse no. 12
14. • Zann connotes "accusation", that is, a charge of
wrongdoing, as with guilt, crime, offense or blame
without any strong evidence.”
• Tajassus = spying or prying secretly into the faults
of others. Includes:
– Hacking
– Reading SMS, what's app messages, browsing
history
– Searching the source of income, age
• "Do not speak ill of Muslims behind their backs,
and do not search out their faults, for he who
searches out their faults will have his faults
searched out by Allah, and he whose faults are
searched out by Allah will be exposed by Him,
even though he should be in the interior of his
house“ (hadith)
• However, if there is an apprehension that anyone
may be harmed by some mischief-makers, it is
permitted for others to spy to protect the innocent.

18. “O people! We created you from one
man and one woman and made you
branches and tribes that you may
recognize one another. Undoubtedly, the
most respected among you in the sight of
Allah is he who is more pious, verily,
Allah is knowing, Aware.”

19. The villagers said 'we have
believed'. Say, you, 'you believed
not, yes, you rather say, we have
surrendered', for the belief has not
yet entered in your hearts. But if
you shall obey Allah ends His
Messenger, He will not make you
to lose anything of your works.
Surely, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful

20. The believers are only those who have believed
in Allah and His Messenger and then, have
never doubted and have struggled with their
possession and their persons in the way of
Allah. It is they who are truthful.

21. Say you, 'do you tell Allah your religion? And Allah
knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in
the earth. And Allah knows everything.

22. O beloved (prophet)! They take it as a favor to
you that they have become Muslims. Say you,
'do not place the favor of your Islam on me; but
rather Allah confers a favor upon you in that He
has guided you to Islam, if you are truthful

23. Undoubtedly, Allah knows the unseen of the
heaven and of the earth, and Allah is seeing
your works.
