Digital Lebanon Conference convened in its first edition on the 13th of September 2019 in Beirut under the patronage of the President of the Council of Ministers, H.E. Mr. Saad Hariri, and in partnership with the Ministry of Telecommunications, the Ministry of State for Administrative Reforms (OMSAR), the Ministry of State for Investment and Technology, the Office of the Prime Minister, and the World Bank. The conference gathered ministers, technology experts, entrepreneurs, and economic experts from Lebanon and abroad. The conference focused on key policy interventions, initiatives and recommendations needed for Lebanon to be recognized as a regional player in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector by 2020, and as a quality supplier of innovative technology by 2025. It discussed initiatives aiming to strongly position Lebanon on the global digital economy map and capitalize on its skilled human resources, rich entrepreneurial culture and the vast network of Lebanese entrepreneurs across the world. It also highlighted use cases of 5G, Blockchain, artificial intelligence and many other technologies in private and public projects.
