4. Here is the trick, it is actually a game, make sure you understand so that you can explain it well and play it with anyone you want in Christmas times. Everyone in the house-party has to be a character and behave consistently all the time and at the end of the night the participants have to guess what every one’s character was. The one who is voted to have acted his or her character best gets a prize. How do you like the idea? Do you find it amusing? You can find many of these in Saki’s short stories We invite you !!!
5. Saki is well knownfor his short but memorable, with finely-drawn characters, unique and macabre situations, and perfectly-timed narratives stories. A touch of realism does not get away from this genius style in which he is as usual satirizing the Edwardian social scene. The story is played in an unknown British city and we dare to say British because of the language and the grammatical structures used in the story. Some characters were on the scene; lady Blonze the party-house host, Blanche Boveal one of the guests, Bertie Van Than who was another guest, Sir Nicholas, Lady Blanche’s husband and Mr. and Mrs. Klammerstein.
