Badges can be used to set goals,
motivate, indicate achievements
and communicate skills and
success across contexts.

Visualizing skills acquired in a
course, at work, through selfstudy. These badges recognise
achievements on the skill-level
and can awarded for different
levels, e.g. beginner,
intermediate, expert.

Motivation badges
Recognizing accomplished
activities in the learning process,
e.g. signing up for a Web 2.0
service, submitting an
assignment, completing a test.
These badges motivate to go on
and take the next challenge.
