3. Individual & Family
counseling
Many people experience times in
their lives when they benefit from
professional counseling
support. Whether you are
experiencing issues of an
individual or relational nature, our
experienced and compassionate
therapists can help you find relief
from the symptoms that are
creating obstacles for you.
We utilize a variety of therapeutic
approaches and strategies to help
you get to the root of the problem,
and move forward in life with
confidence and ease.
4. Low Energy
Neurofeedback
At Horizons we use LENS as part of
our comprehensive treatment
plans for many patients. It may be
utilized as the primary treatment
approach, or as an adjunct to other
therapies. Patients across the
lifespan, from young children to
older adults, have benefited from
LENS.
5. Nutrition
Consultation
For many of the patients we see,
imbalances and problems in the
physical arena create or exacerbate
behavior, communication, social,
and learning problems. We believe
that a person cannot even begin to
function at his or her best when
experiencing physical pain or
discomfort, or when the body is not
functioning optimally.
6. Schooling
programme
Our instructional program,
available for children ages 3 and
older, is individualized to meet
the unique and specific needs of
each student. Parents and the
instructional team work together
to determine priority goal areas,
which often include
communication, problem solving /
flexible thinking, socialization,
sensory-motor development,
academic skills, and self-care skills.
7. Summer
programme
This group tackles some major
projects over the summer months.
Past projects have included putting
up fences, landscaping, building an
adventure course, assembling
Adirondack chairs, and a variety of
other take-home creations. These
projects provide opportunities for
thinking, problem solving,
communication, physical activity,
working together, and building
relationships. Principles of the
CORE Approach are integrated
through all activities.
8. Professional
Training
We use a variety of
developmentally based approaches
such as our unique CORE
Approach, SOS (feeding
disorders), Rhythmic Movement
Training, LENS Treatment, sensory
integration protocols, and more to
improve communication, behavior,
social skills, and learning. The
