This describes initial efforts to use x ray and ct scans to provide a better understanding of the composition of mummy coverings, here a mummy mask or head covering. The primary interest is to try to analyze the texts on the papyrus infrastructure.

12. Summary
Currently developing an
advanced tool set to:
Accurately assess mask
construction and areas of
interest prior to extraction
Fully record 3-D Surface Data
Document visual appearance of
the mask for reconstruction and
replication with 3-D printing
Fabricate internal and external
supports for the mask to support
extraction, display, and
transportation
