Topic Proposal Assignment
A topic proposal is written to persuade a specific reader to
accept a project before major research is begun or while it is in
its early stages. You've already begun to explore topics in
recent discussion forums, so hopefully you already have a pretty
good idea what you want to write about. The topic proposal
provides a framework for how you plan to organize the process
of writing your essay.
Your proposal will introduce the persuasive research topic and
explain why it is worth researching and writing about. Proposals
should note your particular interest with the topic and how you
will go about finding more information about and solutions to
the topic (where you will look exactly—which databases, which
websites, books, newspapers, etc.).

is worth 50 points/5% of your overall grade. Below is how I
