INTRODUCTION

The Pulstar brand is more than just a logo. It is the combination of design elements and company principles which create the
immediately recognizable image of Pulstar Pulse Plugs.
This guide was developed to help you become familiar with both the correct usage of both the Pulstar brand logo, and the
Pulstar with PlasmaCore product logo elements so you may easily design and produce communications materials within
Pulstar standards.

OUR BRAND LOGO

Pulstar is our legacy brand. While the brand name hasn’t changed, the plug, technology, look, feel and design elements
have changed.

OUR PRODUCT LOGO

We’ve added “with PlasmaCore” to the product name to distinguish this next generation plug from previous versions, and
modified the color scheme and design elements to also distinguish it from past marketing efforts.

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

The following brand guidelines have been created to ensure the development and consistent usage of our logo throughout all
communications. If you have any questions about these guidelines or how to use our logo, please contact:
Heather Tausch
htausch@enerpulse.com

3 | PULSTAR PLASMA CORE BRAND GUIDELINES
MESSAGING

Unlike conventional spark plugs that dissipate and waste energy, Pulstar® with PlasmaCore Plugs have a patented capacitor in
the core that stores energy from the ignition coil. Before the spark, Pulstar® with PlasmaCore Plugs release this energy in a
quick and powerful burst, producing more than 5,000,000 watts of peak power which forms an energy-dense plasma field.
The plasma field sensitizes the fuel mixture allowing it to burn more quickly and completely once the spark is formed, creating
consistent cycle-to-cycle combustion resulting in a quicker throttle response and higher average horsepower and torque.

Pulstar with PlasmaCore Pulse Plugs now have:
• A Bigger Spark: Patented capacitor stores and releases more than 5,000,000 watts of energy, forming a fuel sensitizing plasma field.
• More Power: Consistent and efficient fuel combustion provides increased throttle response, horsepower and torque.
• Longer Life: Specifically engineered electrode extends the life of the plug and allows for improved fuel ignition.

HOW TO TALK ABOUT OUR TECHNOLOGY

SPARK EVENT (TRIGGERED UPON IGNITION SIGNAL)
Step 1: Ionization (20 micro seconds):

Both conventional spark plugs and Precise Combustion Ignition (PCI) pulse plugs ionize the spark gap using voltage provided by
the coil, preparing it for the spark by providing a path for the energy to follow from the center electrode to the ground electrode.
Upon ignition signal the coil begins to send energy to the plug. Spark plugs dissipate this energy until it is ready to create the
streamer phase of the spark event. Pulse plugs store this energy in the core capacitor until it is ready to create the streamer phase
of the spark event; this conserves and stores the energy for later use.

Step 2: Streamer Phase (100 nanoseconds):

Once enough ions are created during the ionization phase, an electrical streamer is formed connecting the center and ground
electrodes. This allows for current to flow from the coil into the spark gap, facilitating the creation of the spark.
Pulse plugs release the stored energy at the very beginning of the current flow. The flood gates are opened; the stored energy is
released in an extremely quick and powerful burst, forming an energy-dense plasma with more than 5,000,000 watts of peak power
within nanoseconds. This cold plasma sensitizes the fuel mixture, preparing it for ignition, but does not ignite the fuel. Following
the plasma created during the streamer phase, a spark is created to ignite the fuel.
Conventional spark plugs dissipate and waste the energy currently being delivered by the ignition coil prior to the streamer phase.
The streamer phase is ended when current begins to flow, creating a spark that only produces 50 watts of peak power.
4 | PULSTAR PLASMA CORE BRAND GUIDELINES
Step 3: Glow Phase (milliseconds):

Both plugs maintain the spark for a time to ensure ignition occurs.

FLAME KERNEL PROPAGATION

Also known as the combustion event, flame kernel propagation is the result of the three phases of the spark event. PCI pulse plugs
form cold plasma by releasing the stored energy from its core capacitor in a quick and powerful burst. This high-energy pulse
sensitizes the fuel mixture during the streamer phase, meaning combustion happens quickly during the glow phase. Furthermore,
fuel is ignited precisely at the same point from cycle to cycle. This means that the power output by the pistons is much more efficient and consistent from cycle to cycle. This reduced combustion variation results in higher average torque and horsepower output, as well as better throttle response, better Miles Per Gallon (MPG) and reduced tailpipe emissions.

CONCLUSION

Pulstar Pulse Plugs with PlasmaCore are able to store energy delivered by the ignition coil in an integral capacitor located in the
core, whereas conventional spark plugs dissipate energy prior to the spark event. At the inception of the spark channel the floodgates are opened and this stored energy is released in a quick and a powerful burst, releasing a pulse of over 5,000,000 watts of
peak power within nanoseconds. This initial pulse of energy is so intense that an enormous plasma field is formed, which
conditions the fuel mixture for combustion. This sensitized fuel is then instantly ignited by the resulting spark, meaning combustion occurs more efficiently and consistently from cycle to cycle and the fuel mixture burns faster creating a larger flame front.
The powerful burst of energy, made possible by our integral capacitor, means we can capitalize on the benefits of a larger electrode
- something no conventional plug can deliver. A larger electrode, coupled with a powerful spark, means the fuel mixture being introduced into the combustion chamber will more effectively intersect with the spark; further increasing the cycle to cycle combustion efficiency and consistency, and improving the speed and size of the flame front.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION The Pulstar brand is more than just a logo. It is the combination of design elements and company principles which create the immediately recognizable image of Pulstar Pulse Plugs. This guide was developed to help you become familiar with both the correct usage of both the Pulstar brand logo, and the Pulstar with PlasmaCore product logo elements so you may easily design and produce communications materials within Pulstar standards. OUR BRAND LOGO Pulstar is our legacy brand. While the brand name hasn’t changed, the plug, technology, look, feel and design elements have changed. OUR PRODUCT LOGO We’ve added “with PlasmaCore” to the product name to distinguish this next generation plug from previous versions, and modified the color scheme and design elements to also distinguish it from past marketing efforts. HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE The following brand guidelines have been created to ensure the development and consistent usage of our logo throughout all communications. If you have any questions about these guidelines or how to use our logo, please contact: Heather Tausch htausch@enerpulse.com 3 | PULSTAR PLASMA CORE BRAND GUIDELINES
  • 4. MESSAGING Unlike conventional spark plugs that dissipate and waste energy, Pulstar® with PlasmaCore Plugs have a patented capacitor in the core that stores energy from the ignition coil. Before the spark, Pulstar® with PlasmaCore Plugs release this energy in a quick and powerful burst, producing more than 5,000,000 watts of peak power which forms an energy-dense plasma field. The plasma field sensitizes the fuel mixture allowing it to burn more quickly and completely once the spark is formed, creating consistent cycle-to-cycle combustion resulting in a quicker throttle response and higher average horsepower and torque. Pulstar with PlasmaCore Pulse Plugs now have: • A Bigger Spark: Patented capacitor stores and releases more than 5,000,000 watts of energy, forming a fuel sensitizing plasma field. • More Power: Consistent and efficient fuel combustion provides increased throttle response, horsepower and torque. • Longer Life: Specifically engineered electrode extends the life of the plug and allows for improved fuel ignition. HOW TO TALK ABOUT OUR TECHNOLOGY SPARK EVENT (TRIGGERED UPON IGNITION SIGNAL) Step 1: Ionization (20 micro seconds): Both conventional spark plugs and Precise Combustion Ignition (PCI) pulse plugs ionize the spark gap using voltage provided by the coil, preparing it for the spark by providing a path for the energy to follow from the center electrode to the ground electrode. Upon ignition signal the coil begins to send energy to the plug. Spark plugs dissipate this energy until it is ready to create the streamer phase of the spark event. Pulse plugs store this energy in the core capacitor until it is ready to create the streamer phase of the spark event; this conserves and stores the energy for later use. Step 2: Streamer Phase (100 nanoseconds): Once enough ions are created during the ionization phase, an electrical streamer is formed connecting the center and ground electrodes. This allows for current to flow from the coil into the spark gap, facilitating the creation of the spark. Pulse plugs release the stored energy at the very beginning of the current flow. The flood gates are opened; the stored energy is released in an extremely quick and powerful burst, forming an energy-dense plasma with more than 5,000,000 watts of peak power within nanoseconds. This cold plasma sensitizes the fuel mixture, preparing it for ignition, but does not ignite the fuel. Following the plasma created during the streamer phase, a spark is created to ignite the fuel.
  • 5. Step 3: Glow Phase (milliseconds): Both plugs maintain the spark for a time to ensure ignition occurs. FLAME KERNEL PROPAGATION Also known as the combustion event, flame kernel propagation is the result of the three phases of the spark event. PCI pulse plugs form cold plasma by releasing the stored energy from its core capacitor in a quick and powerful burst. This high-energy pulse sensitizes the fuel mixture during the streamer phase, meaning combustion happens quickly during the glow phase. Furthermore, fuel is ignited precisely at the same point from cycle to cycle. This means that the power output by the pistons is much more efficient and consistent from cycle to cycle. This reduced combustion variation results in higher average torque and horsepower output, as well as better throttle response, better Miles Per Gallon (MPG) and reduced tailpipe emissions. CONCLUSION Pulstar Pulse Plugs with PlasmaCore are able to store energy delivered by the ignition coil in an integral capacitor located in the core, whereas conventional spark plugs dissipate energy prior to the spark event. At the inception of the spark channel the floodgates are opened and this stored energy is released in a quick and a powerful burst, releasing a pulse of over 5,000,000 watts of peak power within nanoseconds. This initial pulse of energy is so intense that an enormous plasma field is formed, which conditions the fuel mixture for combustion. This sensitized fuel is then instantly ignited by the resulting spark, meaning combustion occurs more efficiently and consistently from cycle to cycle and the fuel mixture burns faster creating a larger flame front. The powerful burst of energy, made possible by our integral capacitor, means we can capitalize on the benefits of a larger electrode - something no conventional plug can deliver. A larger electrode, coupled with a powerful spark, means the fuel mixture being introduced into the combustion chamber will more effectively intersect with the spark; further increasing the cycle to cycle combustion efficiency and consistency, and improving the speed and size of the flame front. 5 | PULSTAR PLASMA CORE BRAND GUIDELINES
