am a 48 yr old caucasion mail living in North West Arkansas, other cultures within my area are Hispanic, American Indian, and Afro American. Please ask if there are any other things you will need to know about me personally to complete this assignmnet. Assignment 3: Exploring Your Culture Part of successfully exploring other cultures is having a solid foundation in the tenets of one’s culture. This assignment will have you evaluate key components of your culture. When you begin exploring the main foundation of other cultures, you will be able to identify similarities or dissimilarities to your own. This is also a good self-ethnographic activity. Develop a presentation on the cultural identity with which you align yourself. Consider the following: Describe the culture you identify with. Explain the major components of your culture. Explain the various symbols associated with your culture including their meanings. Describe the other cultures you are integrated with besides your own. What are the similarities and differences between these cultures with which you are connected? Evaluate the roles that race, class, age, and gender play in your culture. Support your statements with examples and scholarly references. You may use images and other media to present your perspective. Use the speakers’ notes to explain your statements in further detail. Develop a 10-slide presentation in PowerPoint format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M1_A3.ppt. For example, if your name is John Smith, your document will be named SmithJ_M1_A3.ppt. By Wednesday, December 24, 2014 , deliver your assignment to the M1: Assignment 3 Dropbox . Assignment 3 Grading Criteria Maximum Points Examined your culture, providing a detailed analysis of its main components and symbols. 36 Compared your culture with other cultures you are integrated with to identify the similarities and differences. 32 Assessed the roles of race, class, age, and gender in your culture. 12 Wrote in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrated ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; displayed accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 20 Total: 100 .

Paper Instructions You are to research and write a 5-8 page paper (excluding title page and reference pages) on one of the topics listed below. The paper should incorporate references to the course material and a minimum of 6 scholarly sources. The paper should be typed, double spaced using APA formatting, and attached as a file. Your writing should display knowledge, analysis, evaluation, and application of the material you have studied in the course. See the document called “Final Paper Expectations” for a breakdown of the structure and expectations. As you consider the topic you want to write about, ask yourself what supporting materials from the course, from your personal experiences, and from your researched resources you could bring together to bring the topic to life. Topics to select from are: Consider how Martin Buber’s theory of communication plays out in the world. Take into consideration each of the three types of relationships (I-It, I-You, I-Thou). Abraham Maslow developed his theory of the “Hierarchy of Needs.” How do people use social media to meet their needs? Discuss your thoughts and the thoughts of the experts about the four types of attachment styles. Discuss the impact of the media on the development of gender identity. What are the impacts of long-distance relationships on interpersonal communication? Martin Luther King, Jr. (Quotable Quote) is quoted as saying, “It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality.” What aspects of interpersonal communication apply to this sentiment? According to Anthony Robbins (Quotable Quote), “The quality of your life is the quality of your communication.” How so? Module 2 told us that “the self arises in communication with others.” Discuss. Before writing this paper, observe yourself for several days, and whenever you use “you” language, try to rephrase what you said or thought into “I” language. How does that change how you think and feel about what’s happening? How does it affect your interactions with others? Does it make a positive or negative impact? Describe your experiences and then relate your personal findings to what you find in your research. What labels that you dislike have been applied to you or to groups to which you belong? Explain how the labels affect you. Describe how your experiences relate to what you find in your research. Who is your prototype, or model, of a listener? Describe what the person does that makes her or him effective? Relate your description to research on listening. Discuss the differences between differential, assertive, and aggressive communication. Define and describe what makes a good friend. Describe the investments that are made, how trust, acceptance, and closeness are communicated. How does that compare to what experts say about friends and friendship? What makes for a successful romantic relationship? Compare your pers.

My degree is an EDD in Performance Improvement Leadership Assignment Overview In the assignment this week, you will write a paper (7–10 pages), including a literature review, that examines ethical behavior, diversity, and civil discourse in the context of your particular focus and specialization. What You Need to Know Ethical Reasoning Morris (2016) tells us: In fall 2016, more than twenty million students enrolled across more than four million colleges and universities in the U.S. One in four students were members of a minority group, and approximately one million were international students. These students interacted with approximately four million administrators and faculty and staff members in a diversity of settings. Most of these students will easily transition into a life of academics and social interactions. For others, insults, aggressions, and lack of inclusion are a reality; and these experiences will shape their interactions and perceptions . . . on the challenges facing the nation and world and considering the role that post-secondary education plays in improving civil discourse nationally and creating safe spaces for dialogue and personal growth. (p. 361) Morris (2016) goes on to argue: First, [we must] identify resources to support conversations around civil discourse, social justice, and inclusion. Could we individually and collectively in every department, college, and administrative unit resolve to make a difference—to role-model and ask our students to be kind, show compassion, be inclusive and fair, and extend a hand of friendship? Maybe our academic words, like social justice, just do not resonate. Perhaps people forget that words have power and can cause long-lasting pain or can provide encouragement. While we may study and advocate for equity, perhaps we should say that this campus and my class will discuss challenging topics; but we will be characterized by the following values: to listen, to reflect, to show compassion, to think critically, and to care about this community of learners. I know: it sounds like Robert Fulghum’s All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten (1988). However, sometimes simple guidelines work best. (p. 361) Use your Critical Thinking text to quickly review the following: Chapter 14, "Develop As an Ethical Reasoner," pages 345–365. If you did not complete the Blooming Park: Ethics, Diversity, and Personnel Selection simulation last week, complete it now to begin work on the interviews relevant to your organization: P–12 education, higher education, business or corporate, or military. This activity will give you the opportunity to grapple with the ethical questions that frequently arise in professional contexts, which will be the focus of your assignment this week. Diversity and Multiculturalism Diversity in all organization settings can take many forms. We may consider differences across many criteria, including the following: Ethnicity. Ethnic identity. Gend.

Heather Hedden, Senior Consultant at Enterprise Knowledge, presented “Enterprise Knowledge Graphs: The Importance of Semantics” on May 9, 2024, at the annual Data Summit in Boston. In her presentation, Hedden describes the components of an enterprise knowledge graph and provides further insight into the semantic layer – or knowledge model – component, which includes an ontology and controlled vocabularies, such as taxonomies, for controlled metadata. While data experts tend to focus on the graph database components (RDF triple store or a label property graph), Hedden emphasizes they should not overlook the importance of the semantic layer.

Syngulon’s technology expands the capacity for selection of microorganisms. The ability to select individual microbes with a behavior of interest is essential, whether for simple cloning at the bench, or for industry-scale production. Synthetic biology uses the concept of “bioengineering” to improve or modify existing genetic systems to create microbes with desired behaviors, and Syngulon uses this approach to develop its selection technologies. This selection technology is based on bacteriocins, ribosomally-produced peptides naturally made by most bacteria to kill competitive microbial species. These bacteriocins can have a limited or wide target range against other microbial species. This technology offers advantageous over antibiotic selection for several reasons: it avoids the use of antibiotics in the first place, helping to reduce the spread of antibiotic resistant microbes. The technology also increases product yield; as bacteriocins are generally smaller peptides, they do not impose a heavy metabolic burden on the producing cell. They can have a wide target specificity, helping to avoid genetic drift. Finally, our system is 100% plasmid-based (e.g. without chromosomal mutations), making it applicable for use in any E. coli strains.

Join me in this session where I'll share our journey of building a fully serverless application that flawlessly managed check-ins for an event with a staggering 80 thousand registrations. We'll dive into three key strategies that made this possible. Firstly, by harnessing DynamoDB global tables, we ensured global service availability and data replication across regions, boosting performance and disaster recovery. Next, we'll explore how we seamlessly integrated real-time updates into the app using Appsync subscriptions, making the experience dynamic and engaging for users. Finally, I'll discuss how provisioned concurrency not only improved performance but also kept costs in check, highlighting the cost-effectiveness of serverless architectures. Through these strategies and the inherent scalability of serverless technology, our application effortlessly handled massive user loads without manual intervention. This session is a real world example to the power and efficiency of modern cloud-based solutions in enabling seamless scalability and robust performance with Serverless
