1945 – Nottingham and District Technical College

1958 – Nottingham Regional College of Technology

1964 – Regional College and College of Art and Design

1970 – Trent Polytechnic granted polytechnic status

1975 – Polytechnic amalgamates with Nottingham
College of Education

1989 – Name changed to Nottingham Polytechnic

1992 – Nottingham Trent University launched

1993 – NTU Alumni Association created

1999 – NTU amalgamates with Brackenhurst
Agricultural College

1999 – NTU Alumni Fund programme launched

2008 – NTU Receives the largest ever gift to a post-
1992 university

Alumni Relations at NTU

• The aims of the Alumni Relations programme are to:
• understand the changing needs and expectations of alumni in terms
  of their relationship with the University;
• use this understanding to strengthen mutually-beneficial
  relationships between the University and its alumni;
• build alumni sense of affiliation and pride in NTU;
• establish NTU as alumni’s life-time partner in learning;
• increase alumni support for the University – both financial and non-
  financial
