Why the shots in our film are so
1. Why the Shots in our film are so Important By Hannah Burgess
2. We start our film with a panning shot of the mise en scene within the room. It helps show the sort of character the girl is. We thought it was very important to use movement within the opening to keep the audience interested and to go with the music as it is quite upbeat. This shot is a long shot which looks like someone is looking in on the character. This shows she feels isolated even in her own home or alienated from everyone else. This shot may also show that she is very independent and doesn’t rely on anyone else. Other professional media products use this shot to show the characters thoughts/emotions.
3. This shot shows the two main boys walking into the shot. This technique is used by many other professional media products to help introduce the characters. This still/mid shot helps keep the audiences attention on the dialogue as it leads the narrative on. I have saw that many other professional media products use a still shot when a character is talking.
4. This over the shoulder/two shot is used in many other media products to help show the conversation and reactions between two characters. Since the preliminary task I have learnt how to position/film a over the shoulder shot correctly. This extreme close up helps show the characters reactions/emotions within the conversation with another character. This skill was learnt during filming for the preliminary task.
