16. Present Perfect vs Past tense The present perfect is used when the time period has NOT finished: I have seen three movies this week. I have gone to the CAADI during this week. My brother hasn’t had the exam at school this semester. The simple past is used when the time period HAS finished: I saw that movie last week. I went to the CAADI last Monday. My brother had the exam last semester.

18. The present perfect is used when the time is not specific The simple past is used when the time is clear: I have already worked in USA They have already done homework. Sandra has already asked permisson. I saw that movie on Thursday. They did homework yesterday night. Sandra asked permisson in the morning
