Benefits of the Unit

  Students will be arranged into groups so that each group
 consists of students with multiple intelligences to help the
    struggling learners. This is beneficial to the students
 because they will learn how to work with different types of
   learners. Learning about the different classification of
  animals is beneficial to a student as well because it is the
foundation in most higher-level sciences classes. The use of
  PowerPoint will also introduce the students to technology
   and for those who have already used PowerPoint, it will
 broaden the amount of knowledge that they already know
                     about the program.
Unit Objectives
 - Students will differentiate between the previous five-
 kingdom and current six-kingdom classification systems.
 - Students will summarize the information that they collect
 from the different pictures of the animals
 - Students will classify the animals according to their
 different classification kingdoms systems
 - Students will constantly be making observations
 throughout the lesson about the
 different classification systems
 - Students will learn to work in groups

     describe the classification of animals and differentiate

classification systems. Students will also be required to work
    in groups to research classification information about a
                    selected group of animals.
