them to meet and adapt to
rapid and continuing
technological changes,
particularly in the thriving
global information and
communication technology

Information and communication technology (ICT) in
education is the mode of education hat use
information and communication technology to
support, enhance, and optimize the delivery of
information. Worldwide research has shown that ICT
can lead to an improved student learning better
teaching methods.
ICT is defined, as a “diverse set of
technological tools and resources used to
communicate, and to create, disseminate,
store, and manage information.”
ICT implies the technology which consists of
electronic devices and associated human
interactive materials that enable the user to
employ them for a wide range of teaching
learning processes in addition to personal use.
INTRODUCTION:
Technology begins to change our vision of education at
the moment a teaching-learning program with technology
begins. Technology in acquiring knowledge and skill is an
extremely essential component of education and training
at all levels: primary, secondary, higher and professional
education. For this reason, technology application in
classrooms is essential to ensuring its efficiency and
effective integration
“ we need technology in every classroom and in every
student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and
paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we
experience much of our world.”
• David warlick
These can help the teachers and students
having up-to-date information and
knowledge.
Technology can play a traditional role, I, e. as delivery medium
for instructional lessons or in a constructive way as partners in
the learning process.
Educational technology is a way for teachers to deliver
content to students by using different tools of modern
technology.
Multimedia:
• Development in
computers,
communication,
electronics and other
multimedia tools
provide a wide range
of sensory stimuli.
Audio-Visual and
Animations:
Audiovisuals, video
conferencing, short
animations, etc. can be
used in teaching learning
process.
COMMUNITY
RESOURCES
This can be done via
two modes namely,
asynchronous
communication and
synchronous
communication.
There are a number of
activities that can be developed
using asynchronous
communication like
presentations, free flow
discussions on topic, peer
reviews, debates, message
boarders, e-mails, seminars,
feedback on assignments.
The synchronous
communication
can also be used for
online lecture.
DATABASE:
Database is a good source of
materials put up by the
government, libraries and
educational institutions.
It contains extensive
information on graphic
interface, websites, electronic
page layout, graphics,
multimedia and animated
designs.
Journals:
There are many e- journals
available on the web.
Facilitator can include
online journals as an
integral component of
their learning materials
with knowledge can be
regularly updated and
links that can remain
active.
Software libraries or digital
libraries.
Software libraries contain programs
that the learners may download to
their own computers there is a
range of software available from
many websites on education.
Which includes download for
preschool, secondary school and
high school. The software library
includes e-books , interactive CDs
and teaching tools.
Educational technology 2
is concerned with
“integrating technology
into teaching and
learning”
Educational technology 2 will involve
a deeper understanding of the
computer as well as hands- on
application of computer skills, but
this is not say that the goal of the
course is to promote computer skills.
 To provide education
in the use of
technology instruction
by providing
knowledge and skills
on technology
integration-instruction
to learners:
 To learn to use and
evaluate computer- based
educational resources;
 To inculcate higher- level
thinking and creativity
among students while
providing them knowledge
of IT- related learning
theories.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Malaysia implemented the first computer system
in 1966. since then, the government has
introduced various initiative to facilitate the
greater adoption and diffusion of ICT to improve
capacities in every field of business, industry,
education , and life in the general. These measure
include the enhancement of education and
training programs, provision of an environment
conducive to the development of ICT , provision
incentives for computerize and automation , and
creation of venture capital funds , currently
Malaysia is full of gear to steer the economy
towards a knowledge based on July 2001 ,
In 1981, Singapore launched the national
computerization plan to tap the power of
information technology for economic and social
developments. The plan also called for
increasing computer literacy and the creation of
jobs in this new sector. Twenty five years ago,
not many Singaporeans were familiar with
infocomm. Few had any ideas of the
opportunities offered by technology or how it
could change our life. In fact, working with a
computer was the preserve of just 850
professionals, who made up the country IT
manpower then. To the rest of us, infocomm and
computers were part of science fiction.
Reflection:
Educational technology 2 was a big help, because first it have a different lesson
to be discussed that helps me to enhance my skills on computers. Then, the
practicum or the hands on activities will help me to build up my knowledge
about the different strategies on computer. There are things that I discovered
after the every discussion that I may reflect in the near future. Edtech 2 also
can be utilized as a media in different area, for me the main focus is in the
integration of technologies teaching and learning. They making us more skillful
users and preparing us to be competent teachers must be capable in using the
modern educational media and on how to properly integrate it in teaching to
enhance the learning. The concepts stated in this lesson are also acceptable
based on the real aims of educational technology. This lesson clearly sets that
basic concepts of integrating technology in instruction.
Learning is not limited with only the four corners of a classroom.
We could have this kind of learning anytime anywhere. The things
that I learned in this lesson may also use for the improvement of
the better use of learning resources. Teachers can highly reflect on
this, since teachers are always use this resources material most of
the time. As a future teachers, we share and give information to
our students during instruction. And to be able to deliver this
information and communication technology (ICT) in education.
Computer is an effective tools for the students to learn. The
effectiveness of the classroom can be depeding on how the teacher
let the students use a computer in their class. If you don’t
incorporate the computers , class will be a bit boring
THANK YOU !
