5. Significance of the Study
This study hopes to contribute a
significant endeavor in promoting good work
environment in the workplace. Which would
also be beneficial to students and/or
instructors in strategic
management, corporate strategies and the
like. Moreover, this research aims to provide
recommendations regarding the influence of
age and gender status to managerial styles.
6. Scope and Delimitatiion
The study will determine the
relationship of gender and age to management
styles and job satisfaction of entrepreneurs in
Tarlac City.
This study covers entrepreneurs from
different types and nature of business. Which
would include service business, merchandising
and manufacturing in sole
proprietorship, partnership and corporation.
7. Definition of Terms
Business Organizations - refers to organizations
engaged in the trade of goods, services, or both to
consumers.
Commander Style – management style equivalent to
team management and selling of the other two
managerial models. The characteristics that best
describe the commander’s style are
decisive, controlling, competitive, demanding, perfec
tionist, confrontational, result-
focused, powerconscious and dominating.
Entrepreneurs – managers; owners of the business
organization
Entrepreneur style – a management style which
means manager assumes workers are mature and
have reached high levels of ability to accomplish a
specific task. Among characteristics that fit this style
are changeoriented, innovative, visionary and
experimental.
8. Definition of Terms
Implications - meaning or consequence implied by an
action-practiced management styles by the
managers/owners
Maintainance Style - characteristics of this style are
organized, efficient, concern for
routine, informationfocused and detail-intensive.
Management Styles - The particular practice used to
direct an organization.
Shepherd Style - minimizes the use of directive style
and legitimate power to achieve organizational
vision. The traits that symbolize a shepherd manager
are public
pleasing, informality, sensitive, accommodating, procr
astinating, emotional and contemplative.

10. Chapeter III - Methodology
a) Research Design
This study will use the descriptive
correlational research design in order to attain its
objectives. It is determined to identify the
relationship between the dependent variable
(Management Styles, Job Satisfaction) and
independent variables (Gender and Age).

b) Sampling and Sample size
The sample frame that will be used for the
research will be the cluster sampling. In this regard, the
researcher will collect data from entrepreneurs: a pair
(male and female) for each type and nature of business.
This will help make the data collected more reliable and
accurate. In this research, a sample of 72 subjects - 18
entrepreneurs (manager/owner) and 3 employees to
evaluate for each, will be selected from the sample frame.
This is to ensure that there is fair presentation.

c) Research Tools
The research will employ different research
tools in order to collect the most accurate and relevant
data. The research will employ researcher-administered
questions to the repondents and their
employees, source documents to evaluate the
sales/marketing, production and financial status of the
businesses and observation. These tools are very
important in the research as they will help the
researcher get the view of the respondents in practice.

d) Data analysis and Presentation
The collected data will be analysed in order to make it
easy for evaluation. In this regard simple data analysis
tools will be used. The data will be analysed using
means, percentages, and others. The colleted data will be
analysed and will also be compared to the secondary data
from the literature in order to assess the degree of
difference in relation to managerial style.
