1. 7.) Looking back at your Preliminary Task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression from it to the full
product?

2. I have learnt how to manipulate images on PhotoShop
by using Curves and changing the levels, to create an
image that fits with the style of the magazines and the
genres I chose to address.
I learnt how to remove a background from an image,
leaving a blank space. As well as this, I have learnt how
to crop around an image and edit only the background,
whilst feathering around it to make the image appear
more professional and less edited.
I have learnt how to import images
from PhotoShop onto InDesign. As well
as this, I have learnt how to edit fonts &
colours on InDesign, to make the
magazine appear more professional.
I have learnt how to add columns onto my
Double Page Spread on InDesign, as well as
adding shapes for backgrounds.
I learnt how to manipulate text from
dafont.com on PhotoShop by changing the
colour and size of the text, allowing me to
create a certain style for the magazine.

3. Over the course of making my Media Product, I have learnt how to successfully use the
programmes needed to make a magazine, such as Photo Shop and InDesign. As well as this, I have
learnt the Audience Opinion plays a huge role in the layout, style and content of a magazine, as
they affect the sales. I am a lot more aware about the conventions followed by many magazines
and how the different layouts, sell lines and images can attract different genders, social classes and
ethnicities.
