Glazebury visit to Malaga 2012
1. Glazebury Primary school
has been part of the ongoing
Comenius Regio project in
which schools in Malaga
and schools in England are
twinned to share ideas
about education, specifically
focussing upon the cultural
differences/similarities,
dance and sport.
2. This year, Mrs Bullough and Mr Snelson were lucky enough
to visit our partner school, CEIP Clara Campaomor when all
schools in Andalucía were celebrating peace day.
3. All the children at the school took part
in a performance to celebrate peace
day.
4. Different year groups at the school selected a Nobel
Peace Prize winner and performed a short drama based
upon their chosen person – as you can see, this all took
place out doors...in January!
5. In many ways, CEIP Clara Campoamor
is similar to Glazebury; in the school
library they have an English section
with books that we have taken to them
on our visits; we have
Spanish books in our
library as well, many of
which have been donated
to us by our partner
school.
6. In this Olympic year, we
are looking forward to
celebrating our partnership and the
culmination of our work over the past
years.
Our school in Malaga has an
Olympic-sized swimming pool, a
basketball arena and an Athletics
stadium nearby. Colleagues from
Clara Campamoar will be visting
us in May to see how the
Olympics have had a positive
impact upon our local area.
7. During our stay, we got chance to
visit some of the most important
places in Malaga; the children and
teachers are very proud of their
local area and we are looking
forward to showing them all the
things that we are proud of in
Warrington.
8. Education isn’t just about Educating our children, adults
still learn everyday and we
hope that when the teachers
from our partner school
visit us in May, they will
learn a lot from the
children, teachers, parents
and whole community of
Glazebury.
