Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is Singapore's first protected wetland nature park home to over 500 species of tropical flora and fauna, and it provides a refueling point for birds on the East Asian Flyway; the 87 hectare reserve was certified as part of the East Asian Australasian Shorebird Site Network and became Singapore's first ASEAN Heritage Park in 2003, recognizing its international importance for migratory birds.
