Description: A 2013 Missouri Mark Twain Award Nominee: Twelve year old Will always
wanted to be a drummer for the Union army, but that was before the soldiers came. Now,
with Confederate revels occupying his hometown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and with
the Union army fast on its way, Will wonders if he really is ready for battle. And when a
colonel entrusts Will with an important but dangerous task, Will must decide what in this
war is worth risking his life for.
