Autumn: goodbye to the eagles and greet the
cranes.
The start of the season has important biological
consequences, especially in the Mediterranean
regions.
Fall is a time of welcome and farewells for
ornithologists.
We say goodbye to the observations of many
species such as the last swallows or eagles that fly
south and return in spring. We greet the many
species in migration and others that will stay for the
winter among us, such as cranes, geese, finches or
luganos.

15. TABLAS DE DAIMIEL NEWS
Every year cranes return from Northern Europe to Tablas de
Daimiel National Park and Cabañeros.
In these places they find more food, better weather and fewer
predators.
In March they will return to Northern Europe to begin their
reproduction: to lay eggs.
This year there is less water in Tablas de Daimiel because Guadiana
river carries less water, it rained a little and temperatures were
very high. So it’s easier for birds to catch fish.
