April 13, 2011 Volume: 1 | Issue: 389| November 1, 2010 INDIAN MARKET * 11-Apr 08-Apr % Change COMMENTARY BSE Sensex 19,263 19,451 (0.97) INDIA NSE Nifty 5,786 5,845 (1.01) BSE Midcap 7,124 7,174 (0.70) The Indian markets were constantly under pressure after disappointing February IIP numbers. The decline BSE Smallcap 8,710 8,773 (0.71) was led by Realty, Auto and Consumer Durables. Even the Mid-Cap and the Small-Cap stocks were under Nifty Junior 11,438 11,547 (0.94) pressure. The BSE Sensex ended at 19,262 losing 188 points, while, the NSE Nifty lost 56 points to close at CNX Midcap 8,230 8,284 (0.66) 5,785. Among the BSE sectoral indices, the BSE Realty index was the top loser, the index lost 2.4% followed by BSE Consumer Durables index losing 2.5%, while, BSE Auto index lost 2.2%. BSE Mid-Cap index and BSE Small-Cap index lost 0.7% each. GLOBAL MARKETS 12-Apr 11-Apr % Change Market breadth was negative; of 2,973 stocks traded, 1,134 advanced, while 1,746 declined.
