2. Preface
• Today we are going to talk about a very basic
question, what is a church, and how can we see
as being in a church? When we drive on the
street, we often see church buildings one after
another in the city. But is this the church
mentioned in the Bible? What else should be in
the church? We often see young people no
longer go to church after they leave their parents.
Parents often worry about their spiritual
condition and whether they believe in Jesus
Christ can be passed on. We will discuss this issue
from the perspective of the Bible.
3. Christ is the head/body of the church
• Eph. 1:20 “which He worked in Christ when He raised
Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in
the heavenly places,”
• Eph. 1:21 “far above all principality and power and
might and dominion, and every name that is named,
not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
• Eph. 1:22 “And He put all things under His feet, and
gave Him to be head over all things to the church, ”
• Eph. 1:23 “which is His body, the fullness of Him who
fills all in all. ”
4. Christ is the head/body of the church
• Eph. 5:23 “For the husband is head of the wife, as
also Christ is head of the church; and He is the
Savior of the body.”
• Eph. 5:24 “Therefore, just as the church is subject
to Christ, so let the wives be to their own
husbands in everything.”
• Col. 1:24 “I now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the
afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body,
which is the church,”
5. Christ is spirit = words spoken = bible
• John. 4:24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth."”
• John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh
profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are
spirit, and they are life. ”
• 2Tim. 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”
6. How to see in the church
• In church = in Christ
• 2Cor. 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things
have become new.”
• Eph. 4:21 “if indeed you have heard Him and have been
taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:”
• Eph. 4:22 “that you put off, concerning your former
conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the
deceitful lusts,”
• Eph. 4:23 “and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ”
• Eph. 4:24 “and that you put on the new man which was
created according to God, in true righteousness and
holiness.”
7. Those who obey God's commands are
in the church = disciples
• 1John. 3:24 “Now he who keeps His
commandments abides in Him, and He in
him. And by this we know that He abides in
us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.”
• John. 8:31 “Then Jesus said to those Jews
who believed Him, "If you abide in My word,
you are My disciples indeed.”
• 1John. 2:3 “Now by this we know that we
know Him, if we keep His commandments.”
8. What does it have to do with me
• John. 14:15 “"If you love Me, keep My
commandments.”
• John. 14:21 “He who has My commandments
and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he
who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I
will love him and manifest Myself to him." ”
• 1Cor. 2:9 “But as it is written: "Eye has not seen,
nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of
man The things which God has prepared for
those who love Him."”
9. What does it have to do with me
• James. 4:4 “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know
that friendship with the world is enmity with God?
Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes
himself an enemy of God.”
• Matt. 7:21 “‘Not everyone who says to Me, ’Lord, Lord,'
shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the
will of My Father in heaven.”
• Matt. 7:24 “‘Therefore whoever hears these sayings of
Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who
built his house on the rock:”
• Matt. 7:25 “and the rain descended, the floods came, and
the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall,
for it was founded on the rock.”
10. What does it have to do with me
• Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my
deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield[a] and the horn[b] of my salvation, my
stronghold.
• Psalm 91:1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most
High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
• Eze 24:14 I the Lord have said the word and I will do it;
I will not go back or have mercy, and my purpose will
not be changed; in the measure of your ways and of
your evil doings you will be judged, says the Lord.
11. Coclusion
• Do we believe in God? Do we believe that God will
perform all things in the world according to the words
of the Bible? These two things should be the same
thing. From the above discussion, we know that being
in the church is actually living in Jesus Christ. If you
want to be able to enter the church, you must do it
through GOD’s way, which means that everything we
do is in line with God’s will. So, we will always stand on
God’s side, and we will not become God’s enemy at the
same time, if a person is in the church. God will
support him in everything he does. What a blessing is
that. So, no one, including young people, will ever
leave the church at all, once they enter.
