From 1990 to 1995 I was a Councilor of the municipality of Romentino a small village near Novara. From April 1995 to May 1996 I have done the National service in an association called Telesoccorso at the Caritas of Novara with elderly dependents. I graduated in Law (public address) at the University of Milan with a thesis in canon law. On 20 October 1996, I entered in the novitiate of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in Genoa. From 1998 to 2000 I studied philosophy in Padua. From October 2000 to September 2002 I worked as an editor at Aggiornamenti Sociali, an Italian magazine of the Society of Jesus.
