Career and Experience
Project Engineer 2003-2009
Had the responsibility within team work in managing successful program mainly control
system and control room replacement for Aramco to its Gas Oil Separation Plants
(GOSPs). Actively and self-motivation within the team to achieve the projects goals from
defining the scope to installing the new control systems in the new control building.
The goal of the control system upgrade program are to have the GOSPs working
more efficient and safer.
Main Achievements
Work on control system upgrade program
BI-08260 Ain Dar GOSPS 4, 6 Control Systems upgrade to Ykogawa
DCS, Invesys ESD and SKF VMS .
BI-08261 Uthmaniah GOSPS 8,9,10 Control Systems upgrade to
Ykogawa DCS, Invesys ESD and SKF VMS .
BI-0370 Hawiayh 2 Gas compressor replacement and control system
installation.
The project divided into three phases; project proposal PP, details design DD,
and construction in each of these stages my jobs were.
Project proposal phase:
The estimate of the projects the materiel and manpower needed.
As Saudi Aramco rep, I am responsible to have the projects are
well defined and cover all Saudi Aramco standards and
procedure.

Number of ESD, DCS, VMS, and FF points has to be agreed
between verse departments as project rep coordination between
them is essential.
Project schedule.
Support lead Project proposal 30%, 60% and 100% meeting
review.
Details design phase:
Make the package be ready mainly for the Aramco operation and
construction contractor.
Review and approve critical documents and drawings such as:
Project Scope of work,
MTOs,
P&IDs,
ILDs,
Logic Drawings,
ISS,
And many other related to control System upgrade.
I/Os points such as DCS , ESD, VMS, and FF are completed.
The control room construction details structure and furniture.
All materials are defined and agreed between Aramco
departments and within budget.
Support the details design review meeting.
Aramco‘s PMT rep to have most of the departments agreed in
DD, was a challenge because of the time limit and cost of the
project at the end all of them understand the projects has budget.
Construction phase:
This phase was the most challenging one.
Selecting and evaluating the construction contractor based on:
The manpower qualification and skills spicily in control
system.
The tools and equipment it has.
Awareness of Aramco Standard, quality level and safety.
Building the control room based on Aramco’s standard.
Factory acceptance test and site acceptance test for the control
systems.
Commissioning the systems
Totally involve in 3000 I/Os (AI, AO, DI, DO) successful
loop checks.
Any filled loop to be traced and rechecked.
Sign the pass loops.
Aramco’s PMT, Aramco’s operation, Aramco’s
inspection, construction contractor, and design contactor
were involved.
PMT job is to have the execution of projects within:
o budget,
o safely,

o Aramco standard and quality,
o Operation agreement.
Coordination between Aramco ‘s operation, inspection, construction
contractor and control system provider:
Support in leading weekly meeting
Control the spending hours verses accomplish activities within
schedule.
Solve technical issues and clarify Aramco standard
Solve outstanding items after startup the GOSP
Instrumentation Engineer 2000-2002
Working as instrument engineer for lead consultant office (Alhijelan) which provide
consultation to big companies such as SABIC and Saudi Aramco.
Main Achievements
Involve in Over 500 drawings of As-built projects for Aramco in Bari Gas Plant.
Within a team successfully complete instrumentation’s drawings and
specifications complying with the client’s standard.
Accomplish projects e.g. as-built, H2S detector specification in Apqaiq plant.
Tank level control instrumentation requirements in Aramco plant in Ras Tanurah
Self training Microstation and CADD.
Take the initiative to understand the client’s requirements and standards.
