The filmmakers received feedback from audience members on their thriller film through a questionnaire. The feedback indicated that quicker shots could have built more suspense and longer shots of blood could have displayed more thriller conventions. Some audience members had trouble following the complex plot and flashbacks. For future films, the filmmakers learned that they need to focus on a simpler storyline, use flashbacks more effectively, and ensure visual consistency throughout.

2.  We handed out a second questionnaire throughout our coursework to gain
some audience feedback for our film. Some of the questions include:

 Do you think the film fitted with the thriller genre?
 •
 Do you think the ‘15’ classification was appropriate?

 •
 Has watching this film made you want to watch more
 short films whereas you didn’t before?

 •
 The questions included qualitative and quantitative enabling the
participants the option to give more detailed responses and us more
information.

3.  From our audience feedback we learnt that
there could have been even quicker shots to
build suspense.
 •There could have also been a slightly longer
takes showing the blood to display more of the
thriller conventions.
 •Another comment made was that the subtle
music helped the suspense throughout the film
without distracting from the action on screen.

4.  Some members of the audience felt like that
they couldn't keep up with the plot and had to
watch it 2 or three times before they
understood it.
 I think this was down to the use of flashbacks,
and the fact that I personally believe that we
did not use them effectively.
 Some people also commented that some
shots or scenes were clearer and better. So
the film was no consistent thoroughout.

5. What Have I learnt and do
differently next time.
 I feel that as a group we were very organized
but at times we lost sight of our aims and
goals. We wanted to convey a thriller film
which i feel worked but it was not effective
enough. The audience feed back allowed me
to see things from another perspective, the
fact that the film should've been easier to
decode was one thing that i did not think
about. I assumed people would immediately
understand it, and they did not.

6.  Also next time I will try to stick to a more
simplistic story line as I feel ours was to
complicated. The fact that we used Propp and
Todorvs theory’s but subverted from them
meant that I and some of the audience had no
sense of resolution, they did not know what to
think and they could not tell the ‘bad guy’ from
the ‘good guy’ this confusion is down to our
methods and next time I know to stick to just
one storyline.

7.  From the audience feedback I also learnt that
flashbacks are not always easily understood
and our difficult to pull off. I feel that we
should’ve spent more time researching that, so
it came across how we intended it.
 Most of the audience like the music, saying
that it ‘built tension’ and conveyed a ‘sinister
mood.’ I also like the type of music we used
but I felt that we used it to readily and could’ve
used more ambient sound.
