The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is proposing a road diet for Kingstowne Village Parkway between Beulah Street and Hayfield Road as part of a repaving project. The road diet would reduce the number of vehicle travel lanes from four to three and reallocate the space for bike lanes and pedestrian safety improvements. The department is seeking public input on the proposal and presented information on how similar road diets have improved safety and traffic flow on other roads. Next steps include gathering community feedback, finalizing the design, and completing construction in summer 2015.
