2. I choose this population because:
 They are motivated to learn
 They are very responsible and
engaged with the learning process
 In most of the cases they want to
learn more than fulfill a requirement
(e.g. getting a job, traveling, etc)

3. According to Malcolm Knowles
adults learn best when:
1. They understand why
something is important to
know or do.
Most of the adults are in the
classroom because they want to
learn something new.

4. 2. They have the freedom to learn in
their own way.
Adults have their learning style:
Visual (“show me”)
Auditory (“tell me)
Kinesthetic (“let me do it”)

5. 3. Learning is experiential
Activities that involved students
(getting up and moving about)
and keep them energized.
Honoring the life experiences.

6. 4. The time is right for them to learn.
“When the student is ready, the teacher
appears”. Buddhist proverb
Students are in the classroom because
they want to be.

7. 5. The process is positive and
encouraging.
The job of a teacher of adult students
includes being positive and encouraging
with their students but not
condescending.
