Phone booth brief
1. PhoneBooth
PhoneBooth is an innovation project funded by the Joint Information Systems
Committee (JISC) and led by LSE Library in partnership with EDINA.
The project is repurposing the digitised Booth maps for delivery to mobile devices
and integration with modern data sources, such as the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
The ‘mobilisation’ allows Library-owned content to be delivered beyond the library
walls directly to the location to which is refers, facilitating comparison with
contemporary geography.
The mobile maps will be integrated into an undergraduate teaching course enabling
innovative pedagogy and assessment.
