Newtons’ 3 laws

  1. Sir Isaac Newton *
  2.  A force is a push or pull  Forces are described by there strength, but also the direction  Overall force of an object is called the net force  When there is a net force on an object it is an Unbalanced Force  An Unbalanced force that acts upon and object will change the object’s motion.  Equal forces that act on an object in opposite directions is called balanced forces  Balanced forces acting on an object will not change the object’s motion  Mass is the amount of matter in an object VOCABULARY KEY:
  3. First Law of Motion The first law of motion shows that an object at rest will stay at rest. Then an object in motion at a consistent speed will continue to move unless it is acted upon by a unbalanced force. Another name fore the First Law of Motion is The Law of Inertia.
  4. Second Law of Motion The second law says that heavier objects require more force than lighter objects. It then says that force is equal to mass times acceleration. (F=MA) M=mass, A=Acceleration and F=force.
  5. Third Law of Motion For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
