- CENTRAL KALIMANTAN PROVINCE 1. Jumlah Penduduk Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah 2.769.156 jiwa (BPS, 2020) 2. Luas total: 153.564 km² (katadata, 2019) 3. Provinsi ini memiliki 2.659.234 hektar lahan gambut, terluas kedua di Indonesia setelah Provinsi Riau 4. Mata pencaharian utama masyarakat adalah bertani, perkebunan, PESK (Pertambangan Emas Skala Kecil) dll

Allow me to deliver my presentation in English Let me introduce myself, my name is Vovia Witni. I am ASM (Artisanal Small-scale Miner) Program Officer in Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta or YTS. Our Yayasan is a local NGOs who work for years doing community development and raising awareness on the health environment issues
- As the introduction to the project, here is the overview of the project’s background
- YTS and Pure Earth have work in Central Kalimantan Province for years, we have very strong relationship with local government and local community. In the context of Central Kalimantan, we considering there are strong background for having the HPAP Project. Those are including; \ Number of peatland is leading to occurrence of Karhutla (Forest and peatland fires), it’s happen almost every years and spread smoke pollution to entire region, other provinces and even to other countries. On the other hand, type of livelihoods in the province, which associated for pollution contribution; such as ASGM as the source mercury pollution. It’s spread in 12 out of 14 regencies in Central Kalimantan While farming and plantation suspected as the source of pesticides pollution, since there are lack of knowledge and the awareness of the community and some of the plantation companies, on the danger of pesticides pollution. With strong commitment from the regional government, we agreed to have the project in Central Kalimantan. Total peatland area 26592,34 km2 or 17% of the area Total oil palm 425,136 ha, the largest area in Indonesia 1,884,260.37 hectares (ha). The area is dominated by oil palm commodity with an area of 1,411,018.41 ha, followed by rubber 448,493.82 ha and the remaining 30,431.81 ha of coconut trees. Based on the status of the concession, Rawing continued, smallholder plantations in Central Kalimantan are 620,684 ha or 32.82% and large plantations are 1,270,841.37 ha or 67.18%. Total area oil palm plantation are 1.640.883 ha
- The project run successfully, thanks to full support and commitment of the actors
- The project involved different related key stakeholders in Central Kalimantan Province - The regional government of Central Kalimantan which are the representative of technical agency/services Academics from local universities Local NGOs and Pure Earth/GAHP (International NGOs)

- Replace the photo with something related to pollution issues
- Disseminate the result of HPAP to local government and national government for support, in order to raising the awareness of the government on the health impacts of the pollution issues by having NPW (like we do today) and RPW in early Jan 2021. We expected the government (local) will adopt and use the results of the HPAP as the reference for the development of RPJMD for 2021 – 2025, as there will new election of governor in Dec 2020 Then we expected, the action plans incorporate in to the work plan of the related of government bodies/agencies/ services In term smoke pollution, we will have capacity building for the government on the data collection of smoke pollution. The capacity building will be held together with Miami University and funded by GAHP
