In this presentation, we present the Teamwork Excellence in Property and Real Estate Deakin Hallmark which is a digital credential that provides an opportunity for students to differentiate themselves to employers. It is a university award that recognise capabilities that are prized in the workplace. This Deakin Hallmark warrants student’s achievement of outstanding teamwork skills to make a substantial contribution in the field of Property and Real Estate. This Deakin Hallmark award recognises the essential role that teamwork plays in the employability of practitioners in the property industry who must work effectively with diverse groups solving complex problems in the industry. Further, we will present on the Deakin Hallmark process including eligibility criteria, submission requirements, assessment panel and criteria, and present on what makes a good portfolio.

Deakin University CRICOS Provider Code: 00113B Eligibility • Enrolled in Bachelor of Property and Real Estate (PRE) • The target cohorts are PRE students who have completed at least 8 credit points and likely to have completed minimum two of MMP213, MMP221 and MMP211. • Students in their third year of study will be in the best position to apply. • Bachelor of PRE Graduates who have completed the course within three months of the application date are also eligible to apply.

Deakin University CRICOS Provider Code: 00113B Puttingtogether your portfolio • Your Digital Portfolio may be written or oral (video) or both • Everything in your portfolio should be suitable for public sharing • Your narrative must be part of your portfolio, not a separate document (e.g. text on the landing page of your portfolio) • The narrative should be no longer than 1500 words - this does not include other text within documents used as evidence (e.g. emails, letters of referral etc.) or annotations used to label individual pieces of evidence so that they ‘stand alone’

Deakin University CRICOS Provider Code: 00113B What makes a good portfolio? • There is no one way – be creative • Guide your reader through your achievements • Link to artefacts in your text so they are easy to access • Annotate your artefacts so they ‘stand alone’ • Be selective – use your most compelling evidence • Be clear and specific - but don’t over-write • Make it personal – what experiences make you unique? • Make sure you provide evidence of having met all of the assessment criteria (in the hallmark guidelines).

- We ask students, how will you differentiate yourself with the student next to you, in your class, in your unit, in your course, in your university, across the globe?
- The job market is so competitive out there. How would you stand out from the crow of property and real estate graduates? Can you articulate your skills and capabilities? If so, how will you evidence this? Because grades are simply not enough….
- Students are now able to gain recognition for their skills and differentiate themselves in the job market by undertaking a Deakin Hallmark. Deakin Hallmarks are prestigious University awards that are developed in collaboration with industry partners, professional bodies and community groups to: •Recognise outstanding achievement of important skills •Enable students to differentiate themselves to employers •Encourage students to reflect, evidence and articulate their capabilities •Engage employers in warranting our students capabilities Students that achieve a Deakin Hallmark receive a digital credential that can be shared publicly through social media and professional platforms such as LinkedIn. Achievement of Deakin Hallmarks is also recognised at their graduation ceremony and recorded on their Australian Graduate Statement of Academic Achievement (AHEGS statement).
- A digital credential verifies who you are , developed and assessed by deakin and industry whom endorsed student achievements. And it explains how they have gained the award. It is also easily share don social media.
- An example of what it looks like is from Islla schaffer in Environmental Management and sustainability in teamwork that she uses at Deakin.
- Deakin has 8 graduate learning outcomes. Teamwork was chosen nby the course team and industry and advisory board the key one they found most important for graduates to have professional skills and demonstration.
- Teamwork in PRE means to demonstrate understanding of teamwork, leadership an dorgn skills, management and resolution of conflict and effective comm skills.
