1. Before you set up your deconstructed role play area, you need to find a floor space large enough
for your children to play in. Place a range of open ended resources in the space, that the children
can use for various constructions. This includes:
● Boxes - Small, medium and large boxes for the children to use in their creations.
● Fabrics - This is great for building dens and changing the look of the creation.
● Large paper - The children could use this to design a backdrop for their scenario.
● Tubes
● Crates
● Cable reels
Explain to the children that there is more than one way to use this area and demonstrate
how some items could be used. Once the area is established, let the children get to know
their new area.
