1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I recorded the process of my coursework electronically through a Blog-spot Blog. I used programmes such as
Power point and Prezi to record the process of my coursework. I decided to use these programmes as I think
that they made my work and ideas look professional. I also used Prezi and PowerPoint as they ensured my work
was easy to read and Prezi helped to make the layout of my coursework more exciting and interesting to the
reader. An example of the way I used these was during the Research section of my coursework and my use of
case studies. I used Power point to outline my ideas of the way in which sound, Mise en scene, lighting etc. was
used to create different effects.
By using these programmes to express my ideas
electronically on my blog it meant that my teacher
could give me ways in which I could improve.
Another way that I recorded the process of my
Coursework was by taking practice shots, firstly by
taking practice shots of different angles and then by
taking practice shots from the rough storyboard for
our opening. I then uploaded these onto my
computer and through the programmes I was able
to display this process in my coursework.

2. How did you use technology when planning your thriller production?
Another way in which my group used technology to plan for our Thriller
Production was with the process for the soundtrack for our Thriller
openings as our soundtrack was created on a computer programme to use
in our opening. This enabled us to gather inspiration from the soundtracks
of existing Thriller movies to create our own. Whilst planning for my
Thriller production I also used a Camera to plan the shots that we were
planning on using for our final Thriller opening. The camera enabled us to
practice out the shots to see which ones were the most effective, I then
used my blog to then present these shots and also Power point during the
planning process for my Thriller Production. Enabling me to present the
planning for my Thriller Production in a professional looking way.
I used technologies such as Power Point when planning my
Thriller Production, This is because it made it easy to gather all
of my ideas together and evaluate them by writing them on a
PowerPoint. I also used a Scanner to Scan my story board of
initial ideas for our shots onto my blog. This helped to present
my written work onto my blog, helping to record the process of
the planning for my Thriller Production.

To find inspiration for our soundtrack.
3. When researching for my own Thriller Production, It was Important to look at previous existing media products
for Inspiration and to guide me on how to create an effective opening. One of the ways that I did this was
through you-tube, you-tube gave me access to clips from a wide variety of thriller movies. I could then look at
the way in which the film’s used lighting, camera angles and sound etc. to establish the film as a Thriller movie.
I needed to make sure that I knew the conventions and the ways in which to establish my opening as a Thriller
opening in order to successfully meet the Task for my coursework.
Technology was vital in allowing me to do this because of the variety clips of classic and contemporary thriller
films available for free. I then used Prezi and PowerPoint to record these film case studies so I could look back
on my ideas and so I could electronically record them onto my blog. I also used the internet to look at
information such as the effects of different camera angles and information on websites such as IMDB to look up
the sort of companies that distributed Thriller movies I had used as inspiration for myn. Also to look up
information about the references that Directors had used to reference other Director’s works.

4. How did you use technology to collaborate with other members of your group during production?
How did you use technology during the
shoot of your production?
During the shoot of our production we
used a digital camera to film, Using a
digital camera helped to make sure that
we were using our time efficiently as it
was extremely easy and simple to look
back on footage. It was also helpful in
order to easily upload footage onto an
laptop or computer and see if any
adjustments were needed.
Firstly in order to communicate our ideas for the soundtrack for our Thriller opening we used the internet in order to Email each-other
Mp3 files to use on Premier pro whilst producing our Thriller Opening. We also had a Facebook Group chat in order to communicate
with each-other outside of sixth form. This was critical in the production of our thriller opening as it is what enabled us to meet up and
film for our Thriller. It also helped us as when we were producing our Thriller opening we came to the conclusion that we should film a
few more shots which we thought would help to enhance the quality of our production. By using Technology we were able to contact
the other members of our group that we were not editing with and communicate this to them so that we could meet up and film more
footage.

5. How did you use specific editing effects to enhance the quality and creativity of your film?
Other effects that I used was Transition effects on Premiere pro, the use of Dip to Black and
Cross Dissolves I was able to use on the programme helped me to make sure that the
production ran through as smooth as possibly therefore helping ensure the quality. Also the use
of Cross Dissolves near the end of our opening helped to create feelings of confusion and
anticipation making our production more creative and gripping for our audience.
I used Adobe Premiere Pro in order to use Editing effects and to enhance and quality and the
creativity of my Film. One way in which I used the editing effects to enhance quality and creativity
is by the use of Slow motion that I used Via Premier Pro as this enhanced the tension and also
made our production more creative and interesting, when the character of Tillie pulls back the
bed covers to find the Fin.
I also used the black and White effect in my production to create a cold, dark
effect to fit in with the mood, It also helped to reference the classic thriller
noir’s that I had researched and used inspiration from such as ‘The third man’
and ‘psycho’. This enhanced the quality and creativity of my film as it made
sure the film was using generic thriller conventions and the switch from
normal lighting to black and white helps to build up tension and enigma in the
character of Hammad. It also helps to improve the creativity as the switch
from normal lighting to black and white is not often used.
We also Included Titles to improve the quality of our film, as these are generic
convention of films in general. We used a simplistic font as we saw
Being used in contemporary Thrillers such as ‘The Bridge’. We wanted the titles
to look sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing to our audience.
