2. His Life
Michel Bombola was born in Hungary. He experienced the second war,
the Nazi occupation, massacres
and the communist dictatorship.
He fled the invasion of Hungary by
the Soviet Union in 1956.
He took part in the insurrection of
Budapest in 1956 and was one of
the first to stand in front of the
Hungarian Parliament, calling for
more freedom and democracy. He
saw many peoples died around him during the repression.
He moved to Strasbourg, France as
director. There, he still continued to
defend Human Rights and fighting
injustice.
He still lives in Strasbourg, after being
stateless during 38 years. One of pupil
of the school of Drulingen is his grand-
son.

Human rights.
Always fighting for immigrates
He was engaged in a democratic forum in Hungary before 1956, the
“Petofi Circle” to try to revive
democracy in Communist Hungary.
He was one of the first to stand in front
of the Hungarian parliament to call for
more freedom and democracy in his
country.
Forced to leave his own country in front
of the Russian tanks, he arrived in
France and he co-founded an association
of refugee
assistance that welcomes and helps
build refugee status and go through a
tough procedure. But this association
also conducts public awareness
misfortune of refugees.

Michel Bombola deserves to be rewarded for he is a
model of solidarity among men.
He had the courage to leave his country and to leave
everything behind.
He arrived in France with nothing, but till today he helps
peoples who are in difficulties as he was in the past.
