Are we confident that our light is bright
Vol. 47 June 14, 2022 Number 23
FATHER
Barry Kennedy
From where did we come, why are we here, and where will we one day appear?
The answers are found in the book that’s passed down from the One true GOD we call
Father.
What a comfort to know, from the beginning He shows Himself as the Creating Father.
He formed man from clay and as a surgeon He made a help meet right there in the
garden.
Man’s history described on GOD’s pages one finds those in whom GOD has
entrusted.
Men of renown, who often fell down, were forgiven as penitent children.
This coming Lord’s Day, in this nation we say our thanks to the ones we call Father.
Honor and tribute will be on display and that is certainly a well-deserved honor.
Especially for the fathers who walk in the way of the One that was the first of all
fathers!
GOD is all powerful with infinite knowledge, and sometimes that may cause us to
fear!
Yet in the Bible we find that He’s also described as a Father Who can shed a tear.
On this Father’s Day let’s honor and praise the ones who give this day reason!
But never forget that One Greatest yet the One we call Father in Heaven!
For He is the One that sent His Only Son to pay our sin debts eternally!
And give us the hope of that Heavenly home to be with our Father
continually!

A Note from the Elders
The elders began this Sunday afternoon going over
the surveys that have been turned in. We appreciate
everyone who took the time to fill one out and turn it
in. We will try to review these in a timely manner and
report back to the congregation as soon as possible.
Again, thank you.
Tuesday Mornings with
the Master
Don’t forget Tuesday Mornings with the Master
every Tuesday in the multipurpose room from 10-11
am. Anyone who can come is welcomed.
Thank You Note
Thanks to all the youth Alex brought to my house
on Thursday to clean out my fence that was
overgrown with vines. It looks great and made me feel
so much better. Thank you again. Steve Kelly
No Neutrality
Pilate could wash his hands, but he could not wash
Jesus’ blood off his conscience.
We cannot be neutral about Christ. We are either for
or against Him. There is no middle ground. Jesus said:
“He who is not with Me is against Me” (Matt. 12:30).
Jesus is God’s spokesman to man today: God has “in
these last days spoken to us by His Son” (Heb. 1:1-2).
He is the only mediator between God and man (1
Tim. 2:5).
He is our perfect example. Christ left “us an example,
that you should follow His steps: ‘Who committed no
sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth’” (1 Pet.2:21-22).
He is man’s only Savior (Matt. 1:21).
When a man like that stands before you, you do not
just pass Him off with a shrug of the shoulders. You
have to make a decision—a decision that affects the
soul, judgment, and eternity. Jesus said: “He who rejects
Me, and does not receive My words, has that which
judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him
in the last day” (John 12:48).
Someday this will be reversed. Jesus now stands before
us, and we have the right to decide what we will do with
Him. The day will come when we will stand before Him,
and He will decide what to do with us: “We must all
appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one
may receive the things done in the body, according to
what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10).
Do unto Christ today as you would have Him do unto
you in the last great day. —Anonymous

East Main Informer, 6-14-22.pdf

  • 1. 0………. 4 --article continued from page 1— Are we confident that our light is bright Vol. 47 June 14, 2022 Number 23 FATHER Barry Kennedy From where did we come, why are we here, and where will we one day appear? The answers are found in the book that’s passed down from the One true GOD we call Father. What a comfort to know, from the beginning He shows Himself as the Creating Father. He formed man from clay and as a surgeon He made a help meet right there in the garden. Man’s history described on GOD’s pages one finds those in whom GOD has entrusted. Men of renown, who often fell down, were forgiven as penitent children. This coming Lord’s Day, in this nation we say our thanks to the ones we call Father. Honor and tribute will be on display and that is certainly a well-deserved honor. Especially for the fathers who walk in the way of the One that was the first of all fathers! GOD is all powerful with infinite knowledge, and sometimes that may cause us to fear! And give us the hope of that Heavenly home to be with our Father continually! • 2. A Note from the Elders The elders began this Sunday afternoon going over the surveys that have been turned in. We appreciate everyone who took the time to fill one out and turn it in. We will try to review these in a timely manner and report back to the congregation as soon as possible. Again, thank you. Tuesday Mornings with the Master Don’t forget Tuesday Mornings with the Master every Tuesday in the multipurpose room from 10-11 am. Anyone who can come is welcomed. Thank You Note Thanks to all the youth Alex brought to my house on Thursday to clean out my fence that was overgrown with vines. It looks great and made me feel so much better. Thank you again. Steve Kelly No Neutrality Pilate could wash his hands, but he could not wash Jesus’ blood off his conscience. We cannot be neutral about Christ. We are either for or against Him. There is no middle ground. Jesus said: “He who is not with Me is against Me” (Matt. 12:30). Jesus is God’s spokesman to man today: God has “in these last days spoken to us by His Son” (Heb. 1:1-2). He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5). He is our perfect example. Christ left “us an example, that you should follow His steps: ‘Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth’” (1 Pet.2:21-22). He is man’s only Savior (Matt. 1:21). When a man like that stands before you, you do not just pass Him off with a shrug of the shoulders. You have to make a decision—a decision that affects the soul, judgment, and eternity. Jesus said: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). Someday this will be reversed. Jesus now stands before us, and we have the right to decide what we will do with Him. The day will come when we will stand before Him, and He will decide what to do with us: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10). Do unto Christ today as you would have Him do unto you in the last great day. —Anonymous “Choose for yourselves this day” (Joshua 24:15) via House to House Heart to Heart, 11004 Maywood Christian Camp Our week at Maywood Christian Camp is July 17-23.
