DADYou taught me how to catch a ball
And picked me up when I would fall.
You taught me how to sing and pray
And helped me walk the narrow way.
I often fought your loving guidance
And followed a path of willful defiance.
You showed me how that God forgives
And gave me all that you could give.
I am the man I am today,
Because your love helped to guide my way.
Many words can describe you well,
Like father, brother, teacher, and friend.
But the one that I always defend,
Is the one that goes from beginning to end.
Dad is name that I called you first,
It’s the name that you earned by putting God first,
And loving your family for better or worst.
So, on this your day, all children unite to say,
“Happy Father’s Day!”
