  1. 4 Vol. 46 June 15, 2021 Number 22 FAITHFUL FATHERS The very first Father is the God of all creation, His example has had an impact on every nation. His faithfulness transcends all expectation, His love for us was shown with the ultimate expression. Many have fathers who follow God’s pattern, They provide for us love, direction, and compassion. For them on this day we express our appreciation, By honoring their faithful, loving devotion. And for those who will one day step up to this calling, Remember the first Father is faithfully watching. Be what He wants every Father to be, Is faithful to GOD first, and then family. —Barry Kennedy ELDERS Mike Childers ............. 397-6453 Dennis Hallmark......... 255-5557 Mark Hitt .................... 322-0917 Bobby Lindley ............ 260-9193 DEACONS Wade Bryan ................ 419-5552 William Harris ............ 416-8149 Ricky Lindsey............. 255-8136 Jeff Mansel.................. 871-0357 Jimmy Spearman ........ 840-8957 Michael Wilson........... 891-0891 MINISTERS Barry Kennedy....(931)787-7108 Alex Blackwelder (731)879-9196 SECRETARY Renee Childers Office.......................... 842-6116 Fax .............................. 842-7091 E-MAIL eastmaincoc38804@gmail.com WEB PAGE eastmaincoc.com SUNDAY SERVICES Worship........................9:00 a.m. Bible class..................10:15 a.m. Worship......................11:15 a.m. Singing or Devotional Last Sunday of the Month MID-WEEK SERVICES Wednesday Classes......7:00 p.m. 1606 East Main Street P. 2. FAITHFUL FATHERS Terry R. Townsend “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD; and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate” (Psa. 127:3-5). What an awesome blessing, as well as responsibility, rearing children is! If only more fathers and mothers had a greater appreciation of this gift and took more seriously their God-given roles as parents (cf. Deut. 6:1ff; Pro. 22:6; 31:1ff; Eph. 5:22ff; 6:4). “Father’s Day” is a day set aside each year to honor our fathers for a job well-done. In addition, it is a day to remind fathers of the influential impact they have on their children as well as society. It is true, “as the home goes, so goes the nation (society).” A strong nation is comprised of strong godly homes; homes led by strong and faithful fathers who... 1....love the Lord (Mark 12:30; Mat. 6:33). 2....love their wife (Eph. 5:25-26). 3....love God’s Word and shares it with family (2 Tim. 2:15; Eph. 6:4; Acts 10:33). 4....are faithful to the Lord and His church (1 Cor. 15:58; Rev. 2:10). 5....communicate well (Jam. 1:19). 6....provide for their family (1 Tim. 5:8). 7....pray fervently and without ceasing (Jam. 5:16; 1 The. 5:17). 8....non-abusively discipline their children when necessary (Pro. 13:24; 22:15). May all men strive toward these teachings of scripture, and thus build strong homes and a strong nation! Love, Sean and Kelli Koehn New Movers’ Program Each month East Main is receiving a list of those who have recently moved into our area. Several are buying and assembling a cleaning supply basket with some literature about the church. We need the help of many in our congregation to help deliver these baskets each month as a way of introducing East Main to the newcomers in our community. A table has been set up in the foyer with the baskets, names, and instructions. What a great way to evangelize our area!
