First person view (FPV) drone racing is taking YouTube by storm! Have you ever seen those incredible videos of the drones racing through the forest like in the Star Wars movie? What about flying a mini quadcopter close proximity through the trees, airgates and obstacles while doing flips and spins? If you are curious about drone racing or what you need to get started as a novice then this is the workshop for you! We will cover how simple it is to get started by selecting a good ready to fly (RTF) drone kit and any other add-ons to assist you in becoming an FPV drone racer. This is designed for nearly anyone looking to enter this new sport of FPV Drone Racing as a novice. You will learn about the core components and how to practice flying your new racing drone via FPV. 5. What is FPV? - 5 Min
First Person View (FPV) Drone Racing combines several different
technologies such as a drone (Multi-rotor helicopter or fixed wing plane),
remote control, live video, micro controllers, and a variety of different
sensors. This allows the operator of the drone to fly the aircraftwith
precision in close proximity to the ground, usually below the tree line or
less than 100 feet, and around obstacles via live video feed to FPV
goggles or a monitor. The pilot literally has the point of view of the pilot’s
“cockpit” aboard the drone.
