3. The main title of the album will be at be at the top of the page
In the corner with the the main image overlapping the title
slightly. The name of the album will be the biggest text on the
cover so that it stands out against the rest on the text. It will also
be in big block writing and underlined. The image will be a
medium close up of Yasmin in her nice pub clothing. Yasmin
Dawes name will be underneath the title in slight smaller
righting but still in bold and the text will be a scrip font so it
looks like she as written it, making it personal to the reader.
There will be places where the audience can buy the album, like
Facebook and twitter, or where the audience can get more
information on the album, like iTunes and HMV. The text ‘now’
will be placed above the title of the album.
There is a woman on the advert is standing alone and has a
happy expression on her face. This is a indexical sign, which is
mean to represent female empowerment and that women don’t
need men to feel strong. There are also signs, such as the
Facebook logo and the iTunes logo. This is an iconic sign because
everyone knows what they are and what they mean, it looks like
what it represents.
The preferred reading of this magazine advert is that she is
standing alone and is strong and happy. She does’t have to rely
on anyone else to be herself and she comfortable being how she
is. The oppositional reading might be that she is all alone in this
big celebrity lifestyle and she has know one to share it will.
People might thing that she is putting on a happy face for the
camera for the publicity of the album but really she is sad and all
alone.
