2. Let’s read 2 Corinthians 11:1-15
• Paul's concern for the Corinthians
• Strategic information concerning the devil
3. 2 Corinthians 11:4,
A Different Jesus
• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if one comes and
preaches another Jesus whom we have not
preached, or you receive a different spirit which
you have not received, or a different gospel which
you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.
• “The Jesus that men want to see is not the Jesus
they really need to see.”
• --G. Campbell Morgan (9 December 1863 - 16
May 1945, British evangelist, preacher, and a
leading Bible scholar)

4. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Another Jesus
• 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if one comes and
preaches another Jesus whom we have
not preached…
• Matthew 16:13…Caesarea Philippi, He
was asking His disciples, "Who do people
say that the Son of Man is?“
• Good question! Ask this of everyone you
meet.
• Listen to find out if they’ve got “another
Jesus”.
5. A Different Jesus,
Gospel, Or Spirit
• NAU Galatians 1:6 I am amazed that you are so
quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace
of Christ, for a different gospel;
• NAU 1 Timothy 6:3 If anyone advocates a different
doctrine and does not agree with sound words,
those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the
doctrine conforming to godliness, 4 he is conceited
and understands nothing; but he has a morbid
interest in controversial questions and disputes
about words, out of which arise envy, strife,
abusive language, evil suspicions, 5
8. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Another Jesus
• C. S. Lewis said, “I need Christ, not something that
resembles Him.”
• NAU 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered to you as of
first importance what I also received, that Christ
died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
• NAU John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you
will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am
He, you will die in your sins.”
• NAU John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has
eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will
not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
9. 2 Corinthians 11:4, A Different Gospel
• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:4 …or a different gospel
which you have not accepted…
• NAU Galatians 1:7 …some …want to distort the
gospel of Christ. 8 But even though we, or an
angel from heaven, should preach to you a
gospel contrary to that which we have
preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we
have said before, so I say again now, if any
man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to
that which you received, let him be accursed.
10. 2 Corinthians 11:4, A Different Gospel
• Augustine said, “If you believe what you like in
the gospel, and reject what you do not like, it
is not the gospel you believe, but yourselves.”
11. 2 Corinthians 11:4, A Different spirit
• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:4 …or you receive a
different spirit which you have not received…
• NAU Romans 8:14 For all who are being led
by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15
For you have not received a spirit of slavery
leading to fear again, but you have received a
spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out,
"Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit Himself bears
witness with our spirit that we are children of
God,
12. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Got The Holy Spirit?
• “Q. I read an article on (a well known Christian news
site) that reports as many as 58% of Christians don’t
believe either the devil or the Holy Spirit really exist as
actual persons. I had always thought that believing in
the Trinity was necessary for salvation. Am I wrong?
• A. Although the Bible makes a strong circumstantial
case for the Trinity, the only requirement for salvation
is that we believe Jesus died for our sins and rose
again. Of course even a cursory study of theology
shows that only a sinless man could do that, and only
God is sinless.
• My biggest problem in this matter is that Christians
have the Holy Spirit sealed within them, guiding,
advising, and empowering them. And only the Holy
Spirit can make it possible for us to understand the
13. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Got The Holy Spirit?
• things of God (1 Cor. 2:14). How can you take advice and
receive power from Someone you don’t believe in? How
can you say you believe God’s Word if you don’t believe
in the only One who can help you understand it? No
wonder the Church has become so weak. Like Paul said,
these people have a form of godliness but deny its power
(2 Tim. 3:5).
• And as for Satan, the Bible calls him the prince of this
world (John 14:30) and the god of this age (2 Cor. 4:3-
4). John wrote that the whole world is under the control
of the evil one (1 John 5:19). These verses all speak of a
living being, not just a malevolent force. People who
refuse to acknowledge the existence of Satan have no
one left to blame for the evil in this world but God. This is
a position that I imagine will be quite uncomfortable for
them when they stand before Him and are asked to
explain themselves.”
14. 2 Corinthians 11:9
Work Unto The Lord
• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:9 and when I was present
with you and was in need, I was not a burden to
anyone; for when the brethren came from
Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in
everything I kept myself from being a burden to you,
and will continue to do so.
• NAU Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, do your
work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,
• NAU Ephesians 6:7 With good will render service, as
to the Lord, and not to men,
16. 2 Corinthians 11:9,
Burdens
2 Corinthians 11:9 …I
was not a burden to
anyone… I kept myself
from being a burden
to you
Galatians 6:2 Bear one
another's burdens,
and thereby fulfill the
law of Christ…
Matthew 11:30 "For
My yoke is easy and
My burden is light."
17. 2 Corinthians 11:14
Disguised Deceivers
• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:14 No wonder, for even
Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15
Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also
disguise themselves as servants of
righteousness, whose end will be according to
their deeds.
• NAU 2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone
out into the world, those who do not
acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh.
This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 17
18. • NAU Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is
not against flesh and blood, but against
the rulers, against the powers, against the
world forces of this darkness, against the
spiritual forces of wickedness in the
heavenly places.
• NAU Matthew 7:15 "Beware of the false
prophets, who come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly are ravenous
wolves. 18
2 Corinthians 11:14
Disguised Deceivers
19. 2 Corinthians 11:14
Poisoned Their Minds
• 2 Cor 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the
minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the
light of the gospel of the glory of Christ…
• Acts 14:2 But the Jews who refused to believe
stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds
against the brothers.
• Col 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and
were enemies in your minds because of your evil
behavior.
• Titus 1:15…to those who are corrupted and do
not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their
minds and consciences are corrupted.
20. Let’s read 2 Corinthians 11:16-33
• Paul's reluctant boasting and suffering for
Christ
21. 2 Corinthians 11:20-27
Paul’s Prosperity Gospel
• I would think that Joel Osteen, and all of
the prosperity, health and wealth, name
it and claim it, blab it and grab it teachers
would say that Paul did not have enough
faith.
22. 2 Corinthians 11:20, “smiters”

KJV 2 Corinthians 11:20 For ye suffer, if a man bring
you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of
you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the
face.
23. 2 Corinthians
11:23, Insane
• 2 Corinthians 11:23
Are they servants of
Christ?-- I speak as if
insane-- I more so…
• John 10:20 Many of
them were saying,
"He has a demon and
is insane. Why do you
listen to Him?"NAU
24. 2 Corinthians 11:29
• NAU 2 Corinthians
11:29 Who is weak
without my being
weak? Who is led
into sin without my
intense concern?

• NAU 2 Corinthians 11:32 In Damascus
the ethnarch under Aretas the king was
guarding the city of the Damascenes in
order to seize me,
• The Bible is very specific regarding places,
dates, and rulers names.
• This refutes the Bibles critics and gives us
even more reason to take the Bible
seriously, and literally.
31. The End
NAU 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship
of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
