Things to Look For In a Good Scuba Shop
The internet is the best place to look for a good scuba shop. Firstly, track down the hot dive spots in the area or location
you will be visiting. Once this is done, you can narrow down your search by entering the name of the location along with
words such as “scuba shop” or “dive shop”. Now that you have a short list of the various scuba shops, you can log on to
their website and look for the following information.

Scuba Shop Location:
You need to keep in mind that most scuba shops are also training facilities.
Are they situated near your home or resort where you will be staying? Or are they located in close proximity to the hot
scuba diving locations you want to visit the most? You can use Google Maps to help you out with your search and in order
to get more accurate information.

Scuba Shop Rating:
What is their PADI rating? PADI which stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors is the world’s largest
recreational scuba diving organization, so it is highly likely that the scuba shop is PADI certified.

Dive Packages Offered:
Nearly all scuba shops offer some kind of package deal. Go through each package carefully before making a commitment
to something you are doubtful about.

Class or Group Size:
What is the average group size? In a smaller group or class, you are likely to receive more personal attention from the
diving instructor as opposed to a group with more people.

After carrying out some research online, you must take the time to personally visit the scuba shop you are interested in
before showing up for your first dive. There are some things that you are not going to be able to see unless and until you
perform an in-person inspection.

Atmosphere:
Find the scuba shop that you are inclined to do business with and spend a few minutes walking around the place. What is
the vibe like? How is the staff? Is it family friendly? What about the facilities and amenities it has to offer? You can tell a lot
about a scuba shop if its services are out of order or poorly maintained.

Boats and Diving Equipment:
You do not have to be a professional diver to identify old, worn out and badly maintained diving gear. Also inspect the
boats if possible. Does the scuba shop maintain its own boats? What is the size of the boat? Is it properly maintained?
Are they fast enough to reach a diving location without taking the entire day to get there?

These are all the things that you have to take into consideration when looking for a good scuba shop.
