Tarot card reading is a form of divination which uses
usually a set of 78 cards to help us evaluate our lives in
our present reality and the potential outcomes of our
circumstances.
What is a Tarot Card reading?

These set of cards are majorly divided into 2 parts:
• Major arcana: 22 cards representing the major phases of
our lives
• Minor arcana: 56 cards representing the minor aspects of
our lives which contribute to our earthly existence. These
56 cards are again divided into 4 suites of 14 cards each.
The four suites are : Pentacles, Wands, Cups & Swords.

The major arcana depicts our life from the day we are
born into this life to the last day of our birth. It depicts
the story of how a new born child comes into a new
world and with zero knowledge about this world but
ready to experience and learn new things, the card that
represents this phase is numbered as '0' and the name is
'The fool'.

From there on, the child starts experiencing and learning
about the different aspects of life and then moves into
the next phase of development which is numbered as '1'
and the name is 'The Magician' which represents the
learning the phase in which a child learns the so called
tools of the trade to live life, represented by all the 4
suites of the minor arcana.

The minor arcana represents the various needs that one
requires to fulfill one's purpose of existence. The minor
arcana represents it all by 4 suites which primarily
depicted as:
• Pentacles or Coins representing physical wealth and our
place in the physical material world
• Cups representing emotions (both positive & negative)
• Swords representing our thoughts & belief patterns (both
positive & negative)
• Wands representing Action & our Karma ( both positive
& negative)

From my experiences of doing tarot readings for

to a point of realization that the various aspects of our
lives & experiences that one goes through in their
individual journey are depicted so beautifully by each
card. While doing a reading for a client, it feels like each

result of your interview/exam and you pull out a card.

session?
Usually a tarot card reading session with me lasts for
about 45 minutes to an hour. In this session, I first ask
the person to give me 5 cards chosen at random. This is
called the 'Celtic cross spread' which basically means that
I choose these 5 cards to represent these areas of the

• Internal feelings & emotions (How is the person feeling
