With the new year upon us, I thought I would share my goal setting tips. Goal setting is something that we all do. My tips can help you create goals that you can achieve.
2. Write Your Goals Down
People
who write goals down are more
likely to accomplish them.
Make just a few goals at a time. No more
than 5 -7.
With too many goals, you will lose focus
and you may not accomplish any of them
3. Make Your Goals “SMART”
Specific
Measurable
Actionable
Realistic
Time
Bound
4. Specific Goals
Use
as much detail as you can.
I will create an online business team of 50
people.
5. Measurable Goals
Set
performance goals and not outcome
goals so you have as much control as
possible and you will know you reached
the goal.
I will earn $5000 more this year than last
year.
6. Actionable Goals
Every
goal should start with an action
verb “ quit, run, finish, eliminate, etc.”
I will write in my gratitude journal every
day.
7. Realistic Goals
A
goal should stretch you...go out of your
comfort zone but use common sense.
Don’t make it impossible to reach.
I will make a video 3 times a week. This is
attainable but making a video every day
may not.
8. Time Bound Goals
Every
goal should have an end
date...when you plan to accomplish it.
I will lose 30 lbs. by Sept. 30, 2014
9. Review Your Goals Frequently
This
turns them into reality
Review them weekly
Ask yourself what is the next step I should
take to achieve this goal?
Let your goals inspire you to put things on
your daily task list that will move you closer
to your goals.
10. Share Your Goals
But
not with everyone! Share them
selectively…Do not put them on
Facebook or other social media.
Share with mentors, mastermind groups or
a good friend. Share with people who will
support you…not sabotage you.
11. Achieving Your Goals
When
you achieve a goal, enjoy the
satisfaction of success.
If the goal was significant, then reward
yourself with something you really
enjoy…dinner at a nice restaurant,
massage or a new outfit.
