4. Site Analysis
Raj Nagar is a residential and commercial
area popularly known for its cleanliness .
Climate Condition
As it is connected to the national capital, its
temperature and rainfall are similar to Delhi.
The monsoon arrives in the district during the
end of the June or the first week of July and
normally it rains until October.
Raj Nagar is divided into sectors and ev-
ery sector has a park. Sector 10 main street
market is situated in the middle of of the Raj
Nagar . Sector 10 market is surrounded with
the shivaji marg street and Shivaji chowk.

The back side of
the house is fac-
ing south east but
due to neighbour-
hood houses they
do not get the
proper sunlight.
Took the case study forward and made a design brief for the us-
ers,the made a design according to the needs and wants of those
users.
I, then studied the hobbies, likes/dislikes, collecting home activities,
According to the Neufert

cial and residential part.After
then I did a case study of
commercial store and at the
end massing was done for
residential and commercial.

We were briefed to visit the old Leh town and col-
lect information about the vernacular toilet of la-
dakh,understand their Sewage system,observe
them, document in the form of text, sketchs and
photographs, interview people about the toilets they
have at home and the problems they face while
using the existing toilets .
Brief
Observations
1.Old toiles have a pit hole surrounded by mud.
2.A small window for ventilation.
3.A chamber in which all waste gets stored.
4. After 1 year they open the chamber door which
is covered by stones and the cleaners make that pit
chamber clean.
Pit chamber
Pipe for Biogas
The crux of this design was to have
storage tanks adjacent to the hole
in ground which could be connect-
ed via pipe,on pulling the opening
of the storage tank soil would flow
through the pipe and directly into
the pit chamber.

Exploration
8. Development
Before jumping to 1:1 scale prototype we planned to make a small mockup of the storage tank to work out and check its
mechanism and working. On making this mockup we found out several issues and could provide solutions and alternatives
to it before we started to work on the actual scale model. This helped us to avoid wastage of the material available on site
and even helped us while we were working on the actual scale model.
Final Prototype (Scale 1:1)
We had to make a working model of the design just demonstarte the working of the
design ,alterations could be done according to site.We poposed a curved metal
plate to be installed within the toilet seat which would help to sepaerate the solid
and the liquid wastes.
We learnt how to use grinder and sand paper to level ,saw, hammer and cutter.

10. Site Analysis
This food mall is a gastronomical paradise
tucked right under the Nehru Place met-
ro station. With a multitude of cuisines to
choose from, Epicuria is a delight to.The mall
is based on the concept of eat and go. It is
opposite to the electronic bazaar.
• There are 2 main
entrances that opens in
the center of the mall.• Vehicle access area
• There is only One Public toilet
on this floor. Which is judicial as
almost all outlets have their own
personal toilets.

Orientation:
The NORTH face of the building is
actually the backside of the building.
No direct sunlight on this side. Best to
have outdoor seating. Currently, ser-
vices are placed here. SOUTH : Front
face of building; maximum heat gain
area. All the seating is South facing
with no shed . Direct sunlight causes
the area to remain empty. All entries
and parking access provided in the
South direction. Proves as a benefit in
winter.
