  2. 2. Welcome to the starting Line! Everyone is an athlete; Some of us are training, some of us are not! Hardest step for a beginner is the one out of the door! You Seem to have already taken that!
  3. 3. Are we born to run ? • Yes we are! • For every runner who tours the world running Running is for everyone…. • marathons, there are thousands who run to hear the leaves and listen to not rain! And that’s where we All runners are the seeking Olympic beginners belong! gold
  4. 4. How did I start running? • Start by doing what is necessary; • Then do what’s possible • And suddenly you are doing the impossible!!!
  5. 5. Make a beginning DO NOT • • • • get intimidated by other runners bother how u look while running hesitate to walk get caught in the jargon! (The Pace, The Time, The VO2max and suchlike!) • Do not fuss over the shoes and accessories • Do not overdo
  6. 6. A journey of thousand steps …… • Find a partner/buddy, start slow REMEMBER! Any not important, continuous the exercise you do is better than • Pace is exercise that you don’t do! movement is • 20 min of moving time 3 times a week is good enough to get you on the path
  7. 7. Important tips • Get a decent pair of shoes Run early in the morning, before • your attention to your form Pay brain figures out what you really are doing. • Do not ignore pain • 3 R – Rehydrate, Refuel, Rest
  8. 8. Some Basics tips on Diet • Eat a small snack within 30 min of your run • Thumb Rule – Carbs for Energy, Protein for recovery • Fat is Good – quality over quantity!
