1. CHAPTER FOUR: CRITICAL, CREATIVE AND PRACTICAL THINKING
1. Why is it important to ask and answer questions?
-It’s important to ask questions so you can clear your mind. When you ask the professor smart a
question, he or she is going to notice that you have interest in the class. Maybe your answers to
the questions are not right but you try and that counts. Never keep your questions to yourself
because at the end that causes confusion concluding with a bad grade if you do the
assignments wrong.
2. What are the different ways to question effectively? Give an example of each!
- Analytical: How bad is my grade in the course?
- Come up with creative ides: How can I get a better grade?
- Apply practical solutions: Who do I have to talk about my grade, or help to understand better
the course?
3. What are the three types of thinking skills and how can you enrich these skills?
- Analytical Thinking Skill: Gather information, break information into two parts-main ideas and
supporting evidence, examine, analyze and evaluate those parts and finally make connections.
Receive opinions from other, be open mind. Connecting all the information lead to creative
thinking skill.
- Creative Thinking Skill: brainstorming generate ideas, understand that you can have wrong
answers, keep trying even if you fail, allow mistakes, get a place where you can be inspire.
- Practical Thinking Skill: apply analytical and creative thinking skill, apply knowledge or
experience, and keep your balance with your emotions.
4. Give examples of each.
- Analytical Thinking Skill: A scientist wants to find a cure for cancer, so he has a meeting with a
group of doctors to ask their opinions and to see cases about patients with cancer.
- Creative Thinking Skill: The groups of doctors want to engage with the scientist and use rats,
bunnies and different animals but the cure didn’t succeed. They keep trying for 2 years.
- Practical Thinking Skill: finally they were tired but they never wanted to give up, because one
of the wife’s doctors has cancer so that keep them with strength to keep trying. Finally they
found the cure and save the doctor’s wife.
