Today’s Routine
Routine can be defined as a customary or regular course of procedure. Commonplace
tasks, chores, or duties as must be done regularly or at specified intervals; typical or
everyday activity. Some might even consider routine as mundane or ordinary. How many
in the past have allowed routine to be considered a cause for boredom and therefore, a
defining reason for droll monotony?
There is nothing about today that is droll or could cause boredom. This day has never
existed before. This day will never exist again. We have a moment in time that is from the
Lord.
“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has
made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us
success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house
of the Lord” (Psalm 118:23-26).
“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to
fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is
called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have
come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is
said, ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebel-
lion’” (Hebrews 3:12-15)
We have another few days coming up that, Lord willing, will come to pass. Our Ladies’
Retreat will begin on September 30th
. I want to encourage you, if you are physically able to
attend, to seek the encouragement from your sisters in Christ.
Our Men’s Retreat will be November 4 & 5 this year. I want to encourage you to take
advantage of this opportunity. The fellowship and lessons are going to be exactly what we
all need for growth, personally and collectively. If this is outside your routine, will you
consider changing it this year?
Until the retreats, allow your routine to be one of thanksgiving for each day that comes.
May our routine be to allow God’s Word, and His hand, to soften our hearts. May this
be --
Today’s Routine.

new group members need to sign up to be in a group this time.
