MISSION SUNDAY MISSIONARIES
SOUTH PACIFIC – Nathaniel and Rachel Ferguson
Nathaniel and Rachel Ferguson were
married in November of 2013.
Nathaniel has worked as the Associate
Minister with the Adamsville Church of
Christ in Adamsville, AL for seven
years. In 2016 they became licensed
foster parents with the state of Alabama. They have fostered six
children in the past four years. Currently, they have two children in
their home named Atticus and Zoe (which they adopted). Nathaniel is a 2012 graduate
of the Memphis School of Preaching. He has worked closely with the PIBC for 15
years. Starting in January of 2021 He started working full-time as part of the PIBC
Missionary team. They are thankful to the Heavenly Father for the opportunity to
minister to the souls in the Pacific.
Nathaniel plans to go to Tuvalu, Duviara in Vanuatu, Latoka in Fiji and Majuro in the
Marshal Islands.
In certain isolated locations, Nathaniel has been privileged to stay with the people.
April 1996 saw the beginning of a new training program (IPBC) for the Pacific Islands.
It was different because of the unique make-up of the Pacific Islands. Unlike
land-locked countries of the world, the Pacific Islands are scattered across the Pacific
Ocean. These far-flung island countries go north and south of the equator and east and
west of the International Date Line. After ten years of planning, preparing, and
praying, Robert H. Martin, a veteran missionary to the Pacific since 1973, recognized
the need for the Pacific islanders to have advanced Bible knowledge and training so in
1996 Pacific Islands Bible College (PIBC) was started. It was not practical to have a
school in one place, so a plan was formulated to carry the school to the students in the
countries where they lived. Students who are taught and trained stay and work in the
local congregation where they are members.
Pacific Islands Bible College (PIBC) is under the Forest Park Eldership.
