Your sales team starts out with a template like this one and can shape the call with the prospect that includes documentation, templates, tools, handouts, etc., designed specifically for the prospect! There’s even scoping and analysis templates and work sheets. These are passed to pre-sales for additional requirements definition and analysis. Once the prospect agrees to the scope, the account exec. will begin work on the Statement of Work (SOW).
This is one of several Scope Statement maps we have. There’s a lot underneath the topics, but most everything you’ll require is here. If not, tell us what’s missing and we’ll get it in, or we’ll show you how to apply your own tools, materials and documents. Once you’ve defined the scope, you can then export it to a fully formatted Word document for the prospect to review.
Let’s assume the scope / front end analysis has been done. Now you’re ready to concentrate on the Statement of Work (SOW). This is one of several Statement of Work maps we have, and when complete, will generate a fully formatted formal document!
Once a statement of work (SOW) has been completed (in other words signed ), it triggers the Project Manager’s map and includes a ton of built-in tools and templates. You have the option of either using the tools here, since these are generic, or you can go to the SAP ASAP centric topic on the upper left (light blue), based on version 3.9 of SAP’s ASAP method. Any of the maps can be customized to the way you need to have it for your business. We can brand it and “productize” to your specifications, or we can show you how you can customize it yourselves. The whole SAP ASAP implementation roadmap map can be pulled up by simply clicking on the paperclip icon next to the ‘SAP ASAP’ topic.
After you’ve clicked on the paper clip, this map will appear. If you’re an SAP consultant or project manager, you’ll recognize the five phases immediately! It shows the central topic, along with the five phased approach used by SAP in their ASAP Implementation Roadmap.
This is a level 2 map. Project managers & consultants familiar with SAP’s ASAP methodology, will recognize the work breakdown structure for each of the five phases. It’s obvious that as we keep expanding the map, the next level will make it impossible to read! So, we’ll isolate the topic we’re working on. Let’s look at the Blueprint phase more closely.
Let’s focus in on business process requirements, design, configuration and testing. Specifically, we want to know the steps we’ll need to follow for Scenario #1 and for other scenario processes. We can isolate to any level of detail we’ll need! What’s more... we can do this for the whole team, in one session, by using our collaboration tools! Therefore, anyone on the planet can see, discuss and change the map and it’s contents in real time!
Let’s look at another example. In this case, you have global org. units and master data definition started, and now, you and the team are going to focus in on discussing Scenario Processes and specifically Procure to Pay. We’ll need to describe the business process steps for procure to pay functional requirements and get them into the correct order. Continued on next slide...
Organizational Units The org. units have been defined. Master Data We’re working on our master data requirements. Continued on next slide...
Business Processes Transactions We’re defining the business processes that will need to be part of our procure to pay scenario, as well as, the transactions we’ll need. Continued on next slide...
Future... Once we have our procure to pay scenario process the way we need to have it, we will want to link to Solution Manager to drop it into the Blueprint structure. Click on Procure to Pay Configuration Trigger and it will link to SolMan, trigger the transaction code, for e.g., solar_01, and move org. unit, master data and business process contents into the Blueprint structure.

Documentation Libraries This is the central library where all of the project documentation is stored. These pyramids are like library buildings where documentation is categorized, put into context and organized so that relationships can be established with information in all of the libraries... no matter where they are!
This is from an actual SAP project. Let’s zoom into the Blueprint Phase. This view was generated in 3 clicks! All of the docs are stored here for each of the labeled categories. Let’s focus on the FI pyramid!
We can see the topics for FI specifically. Let’s look inside one of the pyramids.
There’s one document in here, but there could be hundreds! We can see under the “ Type” heading, that it’s a Word document. Double click on it and it will open up in Word.
Much more to the pyramid builder than meets the eye! ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
