Introduction • Former president of USAA Financial Planning Services, Dawn Johnson leverages career experience to provide consulting services to businesses as the head of DMJ Consulting in San Antonio. An active member of her San Antonio community, Dawn Johnson supports several local and national organizations, including the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT). Dedicated to promoting organ donation and providing support to patients waiting for transplants and their families, NFT was established in 1983. Relying heavily on the support of caring individuals, the foundation welcomes help in a variety of ways, including through donations and volunteering. Another way individuals can support the organization is by participating in the celebration of National Donor Sabbath Weekend.
National Foundation for Transplants • This annual event is recognized two weekends before Thanksgiving and is focused on bringing together people of all faiths and beliefs to celebrate organ donation. There are several ways caring individuals can participate in the weekend. For those who belong to a congregation of some type, they can collect a special offering for NFT or hold a prayer breakfast or other activity in honor of patients who are waiting to receive a transplant. Beyond that, individuals can spread awareness about organ donation at school assemblies, religious sermons, or regular classes as the weekend approaches. The NFT provides videos to assist with spreading its message and it makes available various materials and information that individuals can gather and hand out at different events.

Introduction • Former president of USAA Financial Planning Services, Dawn Johnson leverages career experience to provide consulting services to businesses as the head of DMJ Consulting in San Antonio. An active member of her San Antonio community, Dawn Johnson supports several local and national organizations, including the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT). Dedicated to promoting organ donation and providing support to patients waiting for transplants and their families, NFT was established in 1983. Relying heavily on the support of caring individuals, the foundation welcomes help in a variety of ways, including through donations and volunteering. Another way individuals can support the organization is by participating in the celebration of National Donor Sabbath Weekend.

National Foundation for Transplants • This annual event is recognized two weekends before Thanksgiving and is focused on bringing together people of all faiths and beliefs to celebrate organ donation. There are several ways caring individuals can participate in the weekend. For those who belong to a congregation of some type, they can collect a special offering for NFT or hold a prayer breakfast or other activity in honor of patients who are waiting to receive a transplant. Beyond that, individuals can spread awareness about organ donation at school assemblies, religious sermons, or regular classes as the weekend approaches. The NFT provides videos to assist with spreading its message and it makes available various materials and information that individuals can gather and hand out at different events.
